it can take several hours for a chick to hatch after pipping. I have had them pip and then not hatch for over 12 hours, so without knowing exactly how long ago your egg pipped i am hesitant to give much advice.
If it has been over 12 hours or more and you feel you need to intervene(sp)...
I have an almost new bator and turner that i'd like to sell. I prefer local pick-up but may consider shipping. Let me know if you are interested. It's in great condition. I'll take $75 for it.
model 1602N and Turner model 1610
wildsky the directions say that the thermostat is usually more accurate than a thermometer and that u should hatch a batch of eggs to see how it works before making any adjustments. I have the model 1590, but i think they are the same basically.
I think i am going to go with the 2 hova bators so i can use one as a hatcher, come to find out one of them is actually the 1588 model with electronic pre-set thermostat so that is a plus i think. Maransguy i hope i like mine as much as you do yours!
I also went to collect eggs yesterday and...
ok i have located a gqf 1202 $300 and a marsh roll-x $200 and 2 1602 hova bators with turners and one of them with fan $115 for both. Which one would u pick?
I'm thinking the gqf already got the extra $100 approved, what yall think?
I am looking at the hova bator 1588, but also thinking bout building a large one. I could buy 2 turners for around $80 and then build the cabinet.......hmmmmmmm that would hatch around 84 eggs
if you had $200 what incubator would be the one you would buy? Wife said i can get a new one and we agreed on $200 for the budget.....need help on deciding
well bad news here.....only 2 hatched i opened the others up today and 3 had stopped developing probably around day 15 or 16 and the others had full chicks in them that were dead, the yolk still hadnt fully gone inside them yet. Now to try and figure out what happened...............It seems it...
2 have hatched ! one dominique and one speckeled sussex..... both early. The one that pipped on the 18th day didn't make it. Just waiting on the other 8 now, tonight is the full 21st day.
Monday will be 21 for me, but i came home to take the turner out tonight and i already got one pipped, that's day 18, now that was early and unexpected
Snuggle i have hatched some of ginas sussex and they are wonderful birds, some of my favorites. She packaged them well and all arrived in good shape. As a matter of fact my avatar is a roo that i hatched from her eggs.
I have some mixed dominique, they look just like dominiques but some lay green eggs, some lay brown. My alpha roo is a pure dominique and i also have speckled sussex roo and hens (pure bred), black cochin roo and golden pencil cochin hens. They are all in the same pen right now and i am asking...
I try and keep mine between 100 and 102 better to be on the low side than the high. Being too low will usually only mean later hatcing date but too high can be fatal.
