We're trying to get the Queens to start sitting on the eggs to hatch.......We're finding they aren't sitting on them. Is there a way to get them to sit the eggs so they will hatch? Thanks!!!
Dogs are in their pen all the time, eggs are in nesting boxes inside so no chance for critters to get to the eggs. I hope it's weather/food/water related but EVERYONE has quit laying, just noticed the "ends" on one or two of them.
I'm unsure if my queens are egg bound? I haven't had any eggs from them in a week or more. Does anyone have pictures of what egg bound looks like? Their "rear ends" look weird to me
yes that's what I mean lol. Yes they use to lay good, we would get 7-9 eggs a day which is great, 1-2 not so much.......We've had them about a year, no changes, nothing has changed, everyone seems as happy as they did the day they came to their new home......totally at a loss
What's the best breed that lay a lot of eggs? I've got severl barron rocks and they seem to be very tempermental about temperature......i've got 11 layers and have 1-2 eggs a day. I realize the time of year but this has been going on for SEVERAL months, possibly 6. Any ideas to increase...
Oh WOW!!!!! Im not crafty with a needle! Would this mean my roosters may need to be seperated or reduced to 1 instead of 3 becuase ALL my queens have it.
Our Queens have gotten where there are almost no feathers on their backs.....we have 12 hens and 3 roosters all in the same coop. Almost every one of the hens are without feathers. What's causing this and how can we fix it?
1st, does it work to just allow eggs to stay in the boxes for them to hatch? Does anyone hatch like this????
Heres what we done: Wrote the date on the eggs (16th) and have left them in the box. When I gather the other eggs I'm careful not to turn the dated eggs, figured mother...
We boil eggs for 14 minutes with salt....etc but hardly have a yoke that is in the center of the egg.....why? Is that something i'm doing or the chickies?
She's only 12 weeks old so am I expecting to much to soon? I've had her two weeks. Plus I work at night so we try to put her inside the bathroom at night and in her pen during the day. is that confusing her too?
