LMBO! We have a chick that we hatched out about 6 weeks ago. She was one of 5. EVERY night when my husband gets home she Chirps really loudly till he goes and gets her out of the chicken hutch ! Then they proceed to the lazyboy and have their nightly cuddle time....lol. Just thought it was cute...
If it's still unable to stand or one leg goes out from under it...it may have "spraddle leg" (Think thats how you spell it) one of mine had it and you have to tie its ankles together with a bandaid or tape to fix it.......hope its up and running around now....
My last one wasn't born till day 27....They will come out when they are ready....I would say DO NOT open the eggs....made that mistake once with a chick that hadnt pipped on day 25... I could hear it cheeping like it couldn't get out....well, I opened the egg....it died 6 days later.....Still...
My last one didn't hatch till day 27....so....have fun waiting ! LOL....I know it's hard but it seems like sometimes they just don't wanna come out when you think they are supposed to....
I am sorry no one has replied to you ! I am not much help since I have only hatched Chicks but I will do some research and try to get back to you.....Good Luck!
I learned NOT to put the bator in my bedroom....stupid move....we had to sleep on the couch for 5 nights.....LMBO.....they kept coming on different days so we couldn't move it outta there !
I also learned that 21 days is just a number someone pulled out of the air cause my first was on day...
I had my first two hatch on day 21....no new pips on day 22...so, I took those two out and put them in brooder. Well, later that evening, I had another one pip....12 hours later she hatched...and Another one pipped....12 hours later, he hatched.....I waited another 12 hours and made sure no more...
I incubate dirty eggs...not filthy gross eggs , but a little dirt, a little chicken poo wont hurt. Actually its better NOT to wash them because they have a coating on them that helps protect them...pretty sure they call it "the Bloom" on here. No worries ! Good Luck !
Had the same problem with my home made one...constant problems...propping lid open different amounts, putting fan on it...blah blah...finally on day 12 I went and bought an LG from Tractor Supply for 40 bucks .....much better. 6 out of 17 hatched....my lowest temp was 80, my highest temp was...
THANKS ! I WILL.....camera is ready to go again! "I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it, I know, I know, I know I want You (Chicks), I want You ! LMBO! :yiipchick
