non of our EEs have green legs - one has light yellow, almost white and others have yellow. https://picasaweb.google.com/103416668636865771123/Chickens201102?authkey=Gv1sRgCOvj4ejYjL2AEA&feat=directlink#5624866691299169458 - this is last years picture, they are adult laying hens now.
Thanks!

When I was looking for fertile RIR eggs, I went to a farm where the lady said she had some. While there, I found out that while hens are RIRs, they were staying with white roo almost up until I got there. So I only got 1 doz eggs from that farm and also used my eggs (mixed breeds, mostly Easter...
Our chickens roost well above the floor and I also add shavings and hay pretty often (used to be about 5-6 times a week until I ran out of hay now) and there is no ammonia smell in there. Everything feels dry. So... still not sure if I should turn the bedding.
Thanks! Mine don't seem to turn it much, that is why I am asking. I could sprinkle sprouts (that I feed in the morning) so they would scratch more... but under roosts there is very thick layer of hay/shavings.
This was probably discussed already... can someone link me to the post? Does the [deep litter] bedding need to be turned/mixed regularly and why if it does? At the moment we use hay and pine shavings. Thanks!

so donkeys can't get any treats? that website I mentioned above said "You could include horse treats, apples and carrots into their diet, but use sparingly." http://www.pamarosapond.com/care.htm
Why does he have to get fixed or you mean he will bleed if he does not get fixed? (???)
I told my landlord right away (the day I saw donkey here) that they are herd animals and that he needs a friend... I don't think he'll get anyone soon besides us and the chickens. My landlord was not able to answer my question if the donkey is fixed or not (I asked the first day too).

what kind of job? I think he was initially meant to be a guarding donkey, but 1) he is young, 2) there is no perimeter fence (my chickens do get out to the road).
Can a donkey be taught to walk by the owner on a leash... to make a trail, for example?
Thanks to everyone for all your answers so far!
He is not on grass.
Don't have pictures yet.
We are in NY, about an hour from NJ border, probably.
Bold spots are not red, that is for sure. I'll try to take pictures, if I find time.
I have no idea on shots. If it is not required by law, I would...
Does anyone here has experience with miniature donkeys?
The one that is here is a miniature donkey about 5 months old. They say here http://www.pamarosapond.com/care.htm about 2lbs of hay twice a day. So far this guy has been getting here about a flake of hay in the morning and one in the...
Thank you for the replies!
Were there chicken eggs when Native Americans and Pilgrims celebrated First Thanksgiving? Any eggs? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving_%28United_States%29 - I see "wild fowl (ducks, geese, swans, and turkey)" there.
I mean... which breed were theirs close to? These, I understand: http://blog.mcmurrayhatchery.com/2011/03/08/wyandottes/ which else?
What color eggs did they eat?
Thanks!
How true is that? One of our pullets always has poop on her eggs, while eggs are in clean nests and other eggs don't have poop. It feels like the poop got on them while inside the hen.
Our #1 broody's chicks were about 4 weeks old when we moved incubator chicks from brooder into the coop and very soon mama hen was done being broody. Now, 1month 20days later, she is broody again!! this is her 3rd time being broody, she is just 14 months old and not a Silky!
I guess we might...
