    Why we use horse bedding pellets. The humidity here is already high, add chickens breathing and pooping. Current humidity 74%. Coops are 64% and 68%.

    Unless you're keeping them inside or in a heated coop, this stuff will also get cold/freeze and can make it worse. It's best to do nothing.

    16F, low of 8F. Hum: 77% Mine too. I was wearing Sorels, so I need to wear the taller ones. We got 5" last night, on top of 1" the day before, on top of 4" we already had, so that's enough!

    Those look like silkies to me! Count the toes. If they have five, those are satin silkies. Silkies usually can't be sexed until they are around 3-4 months old, sometimes longer.

    To the question of feed, agree with the above. To the question of integration, not enough info here. If they all just sleep in a coop together but free range, then any age, but in my experience, the little ones will sleep in the corner by the door and be the first ones out in the morning...

    That's like what it does for the Northern Lights. It is pitch black, around midnight when I ran down to the end of our driveway to take this a couple of weeks ago. How it makes it look like it's daylight is beyond me!
