Thank you all for your concern, really it's amazing how some people out there really do care. I found another house to move into, sadly a very small yard but I can't even imagine if the jerk killed my cats. It says in the lease that I can have animals, doesn't say which kind. I made a report but...
I'm def going to be moving, the landlord freed my last two chickens and his dog killed the other two, i know it was him there was nobody else :'( i wasn't home when it happend but i saw the bodies when i got home, the exact markings from when he killed my other chickens, nothing aten just bite...
Sadly the only way i an have any chickens is if i give him eggs, otherwise he told me i couldnt have them blah, he is a very rough landlord, but i love the property, out in the country, however i am going to be looking for a new house, i feel so much safer giving my own grown eggs to my family...
He told me after it happened its my fault for not noticing that they were being attacked, and i was allowed chickens so that i could give him eggs, so he told me to get over it, im so heart broken, i hand raised them from when they hatched :( but i do live in west michigan and get pretty harsh...
I now only have a roo and hen, will they survive winter or should i get more hens to keep them warm? also, can press charges against my landlord? was his dog that chewed through the fence, he didnt even eat them, he just broke their necks, no missing feet, legs, wings ect.
The two questionable roo's are white,
They crow together, um they are 7 months old now they were born middle of april of 2014. I'm not sure if the white ones have different collor saddle n tail feathers?
Well I was looking at my flock, I'm almost 100% I have 5 roo's, but I was reading that males have sharp feathers and females have round feathers. Well two of my "roo's" have round looking feathers but crow just the same as my very obvious roo's.
Hello, this'll be my very first year with chickens, I had gotten these guys this last may. We hand made their coop with a small run attached. They've been free ranged with being put up at night. But I'm in west michigan and we get rough, sub zero temps, with a ton of snow. I'm not sure how...
Hello here's some pics of my chickens, I'm thinking they are all EE's but maybe not the one with a big comb, he doesnt have green legs like the other two white ones I have. There are 3 white roos, 2 dark red roos and 6 pullets in these, going to cull 4 roo's next month, any advice on how to...
Blah I'm horrible at taking photos lol but I took a few of these yesterday morning with my neice and nephew, they like to help me feed the chickens, gave them some of the extra chick feed I had to let them feed em. I'll post some up close ones a little later.
I'll take some new pics of my babies, yeah when I found out 5/11 chicks that I had gotten were roo's I started looking to re-home all but 1. And couldn't find a place who wouldn't eat them and figured if someone had to eat them my family would, however I was waiting till they started showing...
