My chicks are 4 wks now and we too have a fenced yard.. hoping to get a few nice days w less wind to take them out again... I took them out before in a wire kennel but now its become their temporary home til our coop is finished. I uploaded a pic of it on my page! ;)

Our back yard is south of our house. To the SE we have a large tree which is where our shed is and between it and the house/garage is the kids' huge swingset... is that a good place to put the coop? What about running a extension cord. About 60-80 feet to coop in winter? I'm starting to think we...
I started our family's chicken venture with some chicks I got at TSC... the sign said "pullets" and "red pullets". I have 2 of the reds and 4 of the pullets.... so my question is what breed are they and what should I expect for laying times etc.... the gentleman told me they were about a week...
