The fumes fade quickly. And ask anyone who has a diesel (especially not a brand new one) - you do have to idle it to warm it up. Driving it without warming it up for at least a few minutes, even slowly, can cause some damage. Just like you have to turn the ignition and let it sit...

No but in reality, the first time I actually watched more than two minutes of it was last night. I can pretty safely tell you that I don't ever plan on watching it on purpose.

My Boxer, Phoebe (RIP, angel), used to all the time. The cats do. Thank God my puppy can't get up on my bed yet, I'm enjoying just the quiet company of the cats.
