I have some amprol here I was about to use it. I saw a little hint of blood in one of the poops. The bottle says it expired sept 14. Is it still safe to use? Its a gallon of Amprol.
I was at my local feedery and saw a great deal on wood shavings for the chickens. However, I remember reading in this forum that pine or cedar or something was bad and other types of wood shavings are ok? Something about hard on their lungs? Which one should I avoid and which one is ok to get?
How is the quality of this silkie out of 10? 10 being the best and 1 being low quality. What do you guys think? He is a partridge. Debating getting rid of him.
Anyone know this condition? Its weird. They seem to grow out of it. Its not wryneck because Ive had that and dealt with it. Bird doesnt have trouble moving or getting around just has a head tilting forward. The mother had it too but grew out of it.
Ive had a few baby chicks die and I have another one with similar symptoms. Do they sound familiar to anyone? I had an adult chicken act like this in the spring time and she died from severe bacterial infection.

Is it normal for chicks under 1 month of age to die? I see no signs at all of any illness. I open the shed in the morning and I find a dead chick. Its the 5th one in a month. I suspected cold weather but its also happening on warmer nights. Poops look normal, birds act normal. No older birds...

There is a great article here about using tylan to disinfect eggs and reducing the chance of myco or anything being passed to the eggs. I was wondering if the same would work if I just used my denagard? Or would this not work with denagard...
