This is what we call "goose revenge "
Roman tuft geese are gentle by nature so as long as he is boss over the Chinese gander everything will stay good and to be honest I am happy that he is chasing away that Chinese gander!
Wow really?! Your roman tuft looks a lot bigger now probably because it's not sick anymore
Atleast you have a pair
Did they mate?
I'm happy for you now since you have a pair
Great news!!
Next step finding your goose a gander, did anyone respond to your ad? You should give the goose a name! So we don't have to call it roman tuft all the time.
Geese don't sleep like most animal's , they sleep by closing their eyes for a few seconds and opening their eyes seconds later so sleep is never a worry (the only time in their life when they sleep a lot is when they are goslings)
She likes the chicken's because they don't pick on her.
the thing she has underneath her is called a pouch or a lobe, usually females have them for that breed so it's perfectly normal.
If it grows bigger then it means she is going into her egg laying stage.
It is very noticeable when she is brooding.
Her droppings don't look healthy and shows that...
She doesn't look like she is in terrible pain which good! I know what she has but I never understood what it was or is.
Does she shake her head then sneeze and open her mouth at the same time? And make a odd noise afterwards while opening her mouth?
And thank you Ireland is a truly nice green...
No don't put salt in the water hahaha they would never like water again. If she is dunking her head in the water then that's a sign of getting better.
I think she was sick before you even got her,the place where you got your geese is just a weird
Sounds like she needs antibiotics there is nothing stuck in her throat! It is a sickness usually caused when it is cold, wet and dirty or if they ate something bad and a common one if they aren't used to their surroundings they will eventually get very light and could die
Many geese are strong...
Well I think that the tuft and the pom should stay together until the gander arrives because those females won't need a male that picks on them,so they are very happy to be separated away from those Chinese females which I know are forcing the gander to pester the other them. So stay separated...
When you cross a Embden with your roman tuft, 60% of those babies will have tufts both male and female and 10% will have a rose coloured beak like the mother.
