Thanks guys! Very informative :)
Also, I started up a page for my girls pretty recently on facebook, would love if you'd all give it a "like" and follow their adventures!

Anybody ever keep modern game or cornish inside? I have such a soft spot for them but I know every breed is different when it comes to flightiness/tameness etc. I've seen them in person at shows and such but never had any hands on experience with them
I definitely should add them to the thread!
And I only wish I could be getting one of those big black fluffy cuties! I'm a student so I can't have a dog at the moment. I just have my two amazing girls, they're inside with me for the most part, aside from when I take them out to hang out with me...
Been a while since I've given an update.. I'm all moved to a new province (Newfoundland) and I've had quite the blast with my girls over the past few days. Lots of travelling and of course they were there with me :)
Here's some pics from our adventure!
My little white silkie Elsie, barely 5 months old laid her first egg today! I am so unbelievably proud of her! This is my first egg as a chicken mom, so I am ecstatic!
Finally put some pictures from my camera onto my computer today! The outside ones are a from a few weeks ago and the indoor are from just a few minutes ago. Their feathers have been filling out nicely! I love my girls more than words can say.
Goodness, I have to agree, silkies definitely make the diapering process as tricky as they can, all those TOES! I'm getting better at it, but man was it easier with my little polish Maddie. I had never even thought toes could be an issue until these girls lol! As soon as I think it's on right, I...
Enclosure is getting there! I did a quick little introduction with the birdies.
It has sliding plexi doors that I hadn't put in yet in the pics. Its 4'x2'x2' and they seem to love it so far! Scratched and dustbathed in the sand like crazy. I'll be adding in the food/water/roost etc shortly.
I...
I just got the enclosure I was waiting on today (a friend was building it for me), and will be setting the girls up in it tomorrow! I'll be sure to post a picture :)
Also, Allie has started to lose her baby cheeping today.. it was so sweet, yet almost heartbreaking for me as her mom, seeing her...
Lol! Anytime I'm around chickens I find myself cautious of anything flying above. Of course they always notice threats first, but I'm quick to find what it is that they're aware of when they make their little warning sound hahaha
Haha they were actually watching someone coming down the stairs :P haven't been any issues wIth them and the dog so far, and it'd better stay that way!
And yes, people definitely are missing out, I hate that most people just see them as an outdoor bird that should be left alone! They're so much...
Had the girls outside with me while I was working in the garden this morning :)
Couldn't decide whether to add this or not despite the state of my appearance, but who cares :P
Morning chicken selfies are the greatest.
