I woke up to 3 lol OEBs Friday morning! 2 light ones with 2 dark spots on their heads and 1 darker one with a dark stripe on its head. They are the absolute friendliest babies I have ever had!! I am so stoked, just hoping I get at least one of each sex. Fingers crossed 🔀!!!
Here they are tonight. Two are lighter colored with two small blackish dots on their heads and the other has a dark stripe on its head and darker down too. You can't tell the sex with color on OEGBs can you?
Oh that's so cute. I had a lone boy call and even when he went outside with my 2 lady geese, he followed me everywhere I would almost step on him all the time because he was always right under foot. The call didn't make it. It was completely upsidedown and had a deformed leg. I have over 2 dozen...
I got 9 ginger breasted red old English bantam eggs in the mail. Most air cells were detached to about 1/4 or so down. I ended up with 6 developing to day 16 and then one died so I had 5 set for hatch. One died upsidedown and one died for unknown reasons. But I woke up this morning to 3...
There already is about 3 inches of shavings between the coop floor and the eggs. She put more shaving and the feathers in a circle and put eggs in herself. It's like she shifted the shavings the make a oval a little shallow and then added the feathers in the mix. So the eggs where already in...
Me too! I've been raising ducks for about 9yrs and was never interested in chickens. Then my autistic daughter got obsessed with chicks and chickens (youtube videos, stuff animals, figures, ect) she is always saying "baby white chicken!" So we got 3 bantam chicks and they ended up being a polish...
The 2 are detached a bit still because if you hold them upright and the air cell looks like where it should be and then as you turn the egg sideways on the dip side, you can see the air cell drop away from the side to the point where it dipped down to when I received the egg in the mail. If that...

I was so positive both of mine were girls even when one was trying to mate with the other. Then goose went broody about 3 weeks after laying her first egg and mavy ({maverick} I know it's so unoriginal but my husband had to name them that) is guarding and protective like a boy. Since I swapped...
I will let you know how it goes! I put 4 in her nest when she came out for food and a short swim last night. I left 2 of her big unfertilized eggs on each end of the 4 runner eggs for now. She settled right back in on top of them so we shall see what happens?! This is her first year broody since...
That's what I was worried about. Her eggs are tough. The reason I was thinking it might be worth a shot is because she just sits on her unfertilized eggs for over 24 hrs barely getting off them and she's been so gentle with them. I wasn't going to put all of the eggs under her maybe 5 at the...
I have a very broody Goose that has been sitting on her unfertilized eggs for about 4-5 days. I receive some Runner duck eggs in the mail today and I'm letting them rest til tomorrow. I was going to put them in my very full incubator but I thought maybe I should try to put at least 5 or so under...
