My hens occasionally lay an odd egg, and I thought I'd share these recent ones with you all.
I don't know what to call this one, but maybe it's a Siamese Double Conjoined Twins Fart Egg ?...
...(or did my chicken just swallow a whole peanut and wrap a shell around it ?) lol !
then...
I tried some meds from the feed store, vitamins, electrolytes. did the crop massage, she seemed a bit better yesterday.
she was standing a little more, but still very drowsy looking.
Sad to say that she did not make it through the night.
we had her separated from the flock in a large pet...
after checking her some more, she is deffinately much lighter than the other birds of same age and size.
breast bone isright at the surface, with very little meat there.
very sleepy/droopy, and did she her squirt a very runny poop.
and was not her normal happy self when I let the bids out of the...
My daughter was cleaning the coop and came in to tell me our 3yo RR (Ruby) seemed to have lost some weight.
she also told me that last week she saw Ruby throwing up / spitting up some water.
I picked the bird up, and yes she does seem to be a little lighter than normal, but to be honest...
thanks for the replies, greatly appreciated.
For now I took him over to a friend of mine who had a 5' x 10' x 4' tall covered chain link pen. best option I had for the night.
Ironically, just the other day my friend and I were talking about building some Pheasant and Quail pens/cages.

I was sitting in my backyard today.... And a young (4-5-month old ?) relatively healthy looking Ringneck comes walking by.
Ok,... so I know many here will say "Yeah,.. so whats the big deal about that?",
Well, the reason it's a big deal is because I live in the city.
I'm 15 minutes from...
Update -
Mr. Gaga, and Crow-ela DeVille, are now awaiting a "Coop transfer" at the feed store they came from.
The owner of the store said she would find them a good home.
Sad to see them go, but at least we won't be getting up for anymore 3am announcements !
Good Luck boys...
Well, Lady Gaga has now confirmed his Mr. Gaga status.
He got into a crowing match with Crow-ela Deville today.
not sure who won the match, but they were going at it for about 10 minutes straight.
For anyone in the So. Cal., Orange County area,...
I have a 3 to 4 month old Showgirl Roo who is in need of an immediate re-homing.
He has just started crowing, and he needs to go to a home where roo's are ok to have.
if anyone is interested in adopting him, please let me know.
Thanks
No objections here !
thanks for the help
.
here's a couple pics of "Cruela DeVille"... (or maybe now it's "Crow-ela DeVille"), LOL!
If anyone is interested in him, please let me know.
Last night, he did not crow at 3am,...
But he did welcome me with a little "good morning triple chorus"...
I don't know where to find the Silkie thread.
Feel free to post a link to this thread.
I'm going to bed now. It's 's 12:48am, which means only 2 more hours till the "show" begins.
GRrrrrr,..... Dang BIRD !!!
worthy of note here,
My fish never crow at 3am !
"Cruella DeVille" (that's what my daughter named him),
is not mean at all.
He has been regularly held and handled, and enjoys being carried, petted, etc.
I don't want to get rid of him at all, because he is so goofy/funny looking.
(I like goofy looking) hahaha
He looks like a "Sneetch"...
