Yea..i have three more for sale but too nervous to ship live birds. Too risky... Wish u were closer...cuz im having a hard time selling these last three... I guess not many people around me care for a unique tufted baby...
And i sold some of these chicks already before they started growing their tufts... So im sure theres a few lucky people who got a chick or two with tufts
Thank you! And yes the dad is my blue barred Araucana. Mom is either my blue barred EE, all black EE, or my multi-colored blue EE hen.
Either way all of them are clean faced. But i have 4 chicks with a single or double tuft... I hear that can happen but its not very common..strange to me...
That is not necessarily true... The pea comb gives you a pretty good chance for a green or blue egg. But doesn't guarantee a blue or green egg. For example a have an all black EE. Has full beard, slate legs and a pea comb. But she lays a cream colored egg. I've also had an all white EE. She was...
Sorry to break it to ya.but that is a roo... Do u see the red blotchy patches coming in on the shoulder/wong area. That is an indicator of a roo. Also the comb is looking a little red..(edited to say) also if u notice the feathers around the neck and the feathers growing by the tail feathers are...
I know u can make sex linked barred rock crosses... And with those the white dot on the head means male. I know some people breed sex linked EE. For example ameraucana rooster over barred rock hen would make sex linked chicks. But I couldn't tell u if ur chicks are sex linked or not. Maybe...
I'm gonna have to say they both look like roos to me. Both really red combs for 9-10 weeks. My leghorn pullets comb isn't even that red and she's 18 weeks old...pullet combs should not the. That bright of red until POL (point of lay)
I agree!..except with #2. I think #2 is a roo. I think I see that dark red coming in on wings and comb looks really red for 9 weeks... I'd be interested in seeing how #3 turns out. I'm a little on the fence with that one. But leaning more towards pullet.
(edited to include jtbass)
I don't believe those behaviors determine the sex of the chick at that age. I have three 7 week old EE pullets and they always run up and bump each other and peck at each other... That's how the figure out the pecking order. Hope this helps... Post pics next week and hopefully we can help ya out.
I agree with lonelypage... I don't think u can Really tell from "tail pointiness"..not at that age anyway. From what I see it looks like u have at least 3 maybe 4 roos...need better pics individually to tell for sure. Such as a comb pic, side pic, and overhead pic. Then we should be able to help...
