I found some wazine on amazon. Does anyone know the withdrawl period as the are laying hens. I know the bottle says only for meat chickens but I'm sure I could use it for laying hens as long as I waited the proper time.
One of my chickens has developed diarrhea. I am not sure which one it is but I found the poop. It has worms in it that are still moving. What is a good dewormer I can put in the water? I'll post a picture in a minute but I am having a hard time transfering it from my phone ot my computer.
It was just an APIP inspection. No vet, I was anticipating taking her in in about a week as the vet is about 100 miles from where I live and she didnt seem bothered by it. Looks liek it got her in the end. tests were negative. Influenza and another one I can't remmebr.
Ok guys the day after my chickens got inspected she died suddenly. It was air and she had this problem for over a year. She was pooping normally I don’t think she was paying much. I will say she was a bit deconditioned and I could feel her breastplate easily. I found her too late so I was not...
One o fmy birds appears to have a a distended crop I thought it was food but it appears to be air. I spoke with soemone else who agreed with me that there was just a bunch of air in it. She told me she had only seen this in commercial flocks. What she could not answer for me was what the cause...
Unfortunately I cannot do the dosing 3x/day so I may just stick with the sub q for right now unless someone advises for im. I can’t get that other drug readily where I live. I’ll have to take her to a vet then get a script and those are really to pricey. I don’t like the idea throwing random abx...
So um interesting update, I really don’t know my hens well by the way. Yesterday, I tried to drain her abdomen again and was only able to get maybe 5ml of yellow cloudy fluid. Yes, I freaked out thought she was gonna die and I gave her peritonitis despite using only sterile needles and syringes...
Thanks you guys. I hope she heals from this but I think these things come back even if I treat her. As long as she remains active I’m ok with draining her belly every now and again to keep her comfy. But if she starts to get worse I’ll do the humane thing and cull her. :(
Good news bad news. I drained about 80-100 ml of clear fluid off her belly. I will try and drain from another site tomorrow. It was not yellow or even tinted yellow so I am not sure what the cause is. Hopefully I can drain it and it will go away but I doubt that is the case. Any thoughts?
So I have her the bath, she pooped once. Did a manual check and did not feel any eggs in her. Her abdomen is really swollen. I have her in the bathroom drying off
just went to check in my chickens today and found of of them appearing to be fatter than usual. She was waddling and appeared to be constantly trying to poop. He did poop a small amount but continues to walk around and poop more. I picked her up and her belly is distended and feels like a full...
So none of my other chickens are sick since him. I beleive this may just be a isolated case. I will continue to monitor and we are working to remove stagnant water around the property but it’s winter which makes it hard.
Does anyone know, if chicken cholera is like mg where they are carriers...
They don’t give recommendations for treatment. I will email later on. I am goin to bleach their waterer i willl try and get the coop sanitized some time this week as I am working every day until sunday. A french drain near my leach feild has been getting backed up when it rains really hard and...
