Hi All! The equestrian therapy center my daughter goes lost their last peacock. I'd love to hatch some more for them, but can't seem to find any eggs. Does anyone have Peafowl eggs?
I know, I just set some of your barnies! She will actually be hatching 3 of those in her classroom. Found out they are looking for BLUE laced Wyandottes....we can only hope! I had to go to the local feed store to get a dreaded heat lamp. I have day old chicks and 2 week old chicks a and only...
I have to think we did. I started with 16 eggs, 13 made it to lock down, with 1 iffy that I locked down anyway. I had 4 unhatched eggs at the end of this hatch. The chicks I pulled out of the incubator had the correct number of chicks vs shells. Broody was left with one egg - while that egg...
Oh, my last hatch, the turner broke. Not the first time it's happend. I actually keep several replacement pieces on hand to fix it. But all the eggs were out of the basket and lying on the cover. It was actually rough enough that it opened the incubator a crack. This was on day 13. I was...
I loved the clear top, but I STRUGGLED to keep the humidity up. Also, in colder weather it was hard to keep the heat even. It IS more reliable than the Little Giant. I've had good hatches in it. I use my incubators a LOT. After quite a few hatches in this, I came home to 30 or so eggs in...
I wish I had some control, but it's long gone. I had someone buy a little giant for me, then I bought an Incuview, then I bought a Brinsea, then another Brinsea, then ANOTHER Brinsea. At my worst, I had 4 incubators going. As it is now, I'll just have 2. One hatching, and one incubating.
I have so much fun hatching, that the cute chicks at TSC no longer tempt me. My problem is, once the chicks hatch, I have a horrible time selling them, so now I have way too many chickens and I"m still bidding on eggs. The horrible time I have selling them isn't the market - it's me unable to...
When temps are cold and the days get shorter, the Roosters are not as reliable. Plus, shipping eggs in the cold weather is also not very good for the eggs. Things will pick back up in Spring....
Thank you everyone!
Thanks Ravyn - that is kind of what I was thinking. One seems to be bothered a lot more by me cleaning their coop, the other was more determined to stay put. I'm kind of worried one is broodie and the other one is just staying close by.
Hi!! I got home the other day after being away for 2 days, and found the turning cradle for the Brinsea had snapped, the incubator was basically upside down, and partially open. I was devastated.... I had no idea how long they had been like that.
But -- Good NEWS -- the eggs were all...
Thank you again for sending these!!!! The eggs were packaged BEAUTIFULLY!! SPOTLESSLY clean eggs. Air cells looked good on the 2 that I candled. I had to fire up the incubator, since my broodies were not broody anymore when I went to give them eggs. I set them yesterday, and my fingers are...
That's what I said about 10 batches ago. I did stop hatching for almost 8 months last time. But then a hatch a long came along and I couldn't resist. It really is an addiction!
You guys are killing me!!!! My incubators are TURNED off. I've promised to lend them to 3 different classrooms that want to hatch eggs. I am baby fluff free - everyone else is fully feathered and outside. I've actually been selling the babies! Problem is, I'm not selling enough of them...
I'd love to order them Pyxis!!! But, I have WAY, WAY, WAY too many chickens - I keep hatching and say I'll sell them, but I never sell any. So, I promised the family members that take care of the watering and feeding of 5 different pens, that I wouldn't hatch any more....not until I downsize.....
There are a bunch of swap pages. If you go to the top and click on search forums and just type in Swap, I found Swaps for chickens, swaps for anything, swaps for NH, Swaps for OH. So, I think the online swap would be the best, unless you found a state you wanted to swap with....
It's funny, I've received SEVERAL boxes from you over the last few years. I remember the first one packed that way - I had been sitting on my bed, planning on unwrapping the eggs - I opened the box and somehow the wood shavings exploded out. By the time I finished unpacking the eggs, my bed...
I hope that it stays sunny, but the temps cool off.
We are DRY and hot. No rain anywhere in the forecast. I'd love some if you can find a way to share!!
YES, they came from you. I am sure of it. I am getting all the eggs I've hatched recently confused!!! Way too many babies running around!!
The only others that I might have would have been from some silkes I got, and these are already twice the size of the silkies in the pen. They look...
