I have a chicken with an amputated wing. I picked up some stuff at my local farm supply store called vetericyn wound & infection care. It's a spray. I'm trying to avoid penicillin unless there is an infection. Has anyone used this?
I just bought some stuff called vetericyn. It's a wound & infection care liquid spray. It works for birds does not sting. And it specifically says on the back of the bottle that it treats eye infections. I got it at my local cal-ranch store (farm supply) the makers website is vetericyn.com. it...
She spent all day in the coop. Hasn't made any noise and not moving. Just standing in the same spot if front of the waterer. Still not eating but atleast the other birds are leaving her alone.
well she lived through the night. she tried to lay an egg this morning but the shell was really thin. i dont imagine ill be getting any more eggs from her for a while. we cut the bone off at the skin, i guess we will see how she does
My neighbors cat attacked my leghorn. The bone is shattered. All the skin and mussel is torn clear through. The wing was hanging on by about an inch of skin at the top of the wing. I cut it off. The chicken didn't fight or make a sound. But now there is about a quarter inch of bone sticking...
Ive never had a roo, but I have noticed that no matter how tame my hens are they still put up a little bit of a fight when I try to catch/pick them up. They love to be held and petted but something tells them they are wild and its not natural to just stand there and let a human pick you up...
I work full time managing a business, so I am up around 6-630. On the weekends I still get up almost that early because I have young children who are used to my schedule.
Ya, chickens will peck at anything that peaks their interest. The way my coop is built, they can't get at the weather stripping. You might try giving them some sort of toy to keep them entertained.
I feel bad for saying it, but I've never seen that version. I've always wanted to! I love Mel brooks. Blazing saddles was a good one! Wish we could post rated r movies on here....lol. well I guess since I didn't guess it, its still your turn.
Mites, that's a good possibility! Also, have you sprayed anything on your lawn or plants? Or maybe. A crop duster spraying a field close by? Have they gotten into any rotting fruits? Like apples?
My leghorn layed her first egg today to. She screamed like she was in labor! The very first egg that I found was like Christmas, I was so excited! And every day since is like easter. Go out every morning and look for eggs. :)
I have 2 reds that have been laying for about 2 months now. They never really had a problem or made much noise.
I have been waiting for my 2 white leghorns to start laying. Today, while in the house I hear a chicken screaming! Sounded like it was being attacked! Ran out to the coop to what...
