I have a buff orp thas 8-9 months old. Have 12 total. One of the hens for 2-3 days just seemed to kind of lay atound. She would get up and go out when i let them but after few minuges would be laying around. So yesterday i grabbed her and she has no meat on her, its gone just skin and bones. Im...
Thanks everyone, its duramycin that gave. Checked on the few bad ones they are starting to move around. Not very well, but they are moving so maybe theyll be fine. If not ill cull them. I will def change feed to the 20% purina.
I used corid for the coccidiosis, but the other bag said hydrocloride sulfate or something to that effect, i dont have it in front of me. Ill look when i get home and post it
And chicken feeds are not in big demand where i am, we have several feed stores but variety is limited to starter, grower, scratch, and laying pellets and crumbles. Would have to order broiler feed or any thing like that
The main reason im raising is a hobby, something i enjoy doing. The meat birde, this is my first time with those. I didnt like the idea of antibiotics, i understand what your saying (just buy from the store), but was afriad they had something to spread through the coop. As far as feeding. Theyre...
The antibiotic, i have seen a few that were "sneezing" i guess. Im its normal but i hardley ever see any of my birds doing it. And with the otheres getting sick and the dry dusty air lately it was more precauitionary is case some were getting respitory infection. Thanks everyone for any help
Mine are just over 3 weeks old. I gave the antibiotic, hydrochloride sulfur i think. Just as precaution. I gave it in half dose. Just in case any of my birds were having tespitory problems. I had seen a few of my older ones that seemed to be sneezing. And its been so dry here lately, well till...
I bought 25 cornish X rocks and have lost 2. I found blood in the stool and treated that and no more problems there. Now i have 3 or so that i have seperated because they cant seem to walk and when they are laying down they dont seem to have any balance. I have to pick them up and hold them at...

Ok thanks, this is first problem ive had with any of my chickens but have new ones i got a couple weeks ago so i guess they brought it in. They are the only ones that have it. But ill treat all of them. Thanks again
There is also a way by looking at the wing feathers. One row is rooster two rows is a hen, or vise versa. Id have to look it up to be sure but i always found that to be really accurate. You do this before they are 5-6 days old
Has anyone had chicks hatch from small end of the egg, opposite of the air sac. This is a first for that i can remember. I incubate eggs on thier side like a hen would. Had a good rate, 95%. But had one that has a crooked neck and wont gro, figure he wont make it
