A few questions that i'd like answered please!
Can you keep ducks and chickens in the same pen?
Do ducks really need a pond or is just a small amount of water needed to keep nostrils clean and prean etc?
Can hens successfully hatch out baby ducks?

One of the chicks I hatched out (13 weeks old now) is pooing clear/white with lumps of pinkish red stuff in it - is this signs of cocci??
She is ruffled and doesnt seem very happy and I gather this is a sign as well??

Just wondered how you all cope with the rain and your coops?? Mine is half covered so they can get shelter (big run - cant free range ) but the rest of it is just mud mud and more mud, i use wood shavings to try and soak it up a bit but any ideas on anything else??

I havent any roosters but have noticed she is spending time in the hen house when my isa (who is laying) goes in to lay her egg, taking tips i guess! Choc brown eggs here i come!!
just squat down when i walked into the coop to feed them and was REALLY happy to be stroked??
Is this normal? It was lovely but wondered if she was worried or nervous?
