Wondering if anyone can help me out with sexing these two Orpington's (lavender and golden laced) -8 weeks in these photos. I have been assuming they are both pullets but the Orpington hen I have been comparing with has a much larger comb and wattles than usual I noticed now that I have been...
Dang, I think you may be correct. Here a couple poor photos I snapped tucking them in tonight, didn't do well to get the comb in the lighting as it kept blurring but I think those are some saddle feathers 🤦♀️
I have a pair of silver laced Wyandotte's, 8 weeks old. I have been thinking a pullet and a cockerel pretty much all along...am I correct in assuming this based on colour and combs? I know Wyandottes can have more colour to their combs earlier so I could me wrong but the assumed male has had a...
This chick is 6weekish old and is my kids fav chick. Super friendly and curious. I've never had Brahmas before...is it too soon to tell gender? Comb and wattles are still quite yellow but not sure about those feathers?
Thoughts?
One of my hens has been having green poop the last 2 days (see photo). None seem sick. It has been warm but nit super hot out and cool at night. They free range some days but not every day. One has been broody for most of the summer off and on and I just got her out of the coop the last couple...

I...
Hi,
I am introducing two new hens into my existing flock of 3. The two new ones are from the same farm but unfamiliar with each other. The lady said they are both new and stressed so I can put them together while they quarantine and get introduced (in separate pens) to my old gals. One is an...
One of my hens was egg bound a few weeks back. She had a bunch of hard dried poop that I managed to soak most of off. I had also given her extra calcium but ended up having to break the egg and pull it out. The whole egg came out without any shell left and she then laid a second egg. I put some...
I soaked her bottom in salt water and can feel/see an egg right there. She hasn’t layed all winter and spring is really just started here (Atlantic Canada). After I washed her bum off she pooped right away but she still looks A bit prolapsed and maybe infected? The poop on her was rock hard and...
I just noticed my chickens bottom looks like this and it looks like she’s trying to poop but can’t. She hasn’t seemed sick previously. Is she egg bound?
