where in upstate NY? I am looking for an orpington rooster.. i lost mine. I have jubilee hens, but as long as the chicks would be big fluffy birds.. that would be ok!
I am in a similar situation. I lost mine as well, but it was while the girls were not laying as well...I too am on the search for another boy.. im hoping someone who bought one from my may have one!
I am in need of a new rooster for my few girls. I had the unfortunate visit from a fisher and lost a lot of birds in a short time. I still have my girls.. and now that my area is secure, i would like to hatch a few more.

I candled last night , day 10, i removed the clears 10 of them.. :( and 3 quitters, but i wasnt so surprised with the clears... I only have 3 blrw hens and i had been saving them for a while...they might have just been too old but I put them in.. just...
We have pygmys, but the buck is a ND. I have a camera for the kidding pen, but because of the weather ( we got 4 inches of snow saturday!!) We havent run it to them. I think we are going to run it in conduit for now.. then bury it later!! i kept tell DH it was getting close.. i dont think he...
we candled over the weekend.. trimming the orps bottoms seemed to help! and changing the roo... maybe, but we set almost 24 eggs and 20 are viable! not the wyandottes on the other hand.. my alpha hen will not let the roo near her.. i set all the eggs though and it appears that hers arent...
set 45 eggs on saturday morning! 5 CCL, 12 BLRW, the rest are english jubilee orps! some of those are a week old, but they went in anyway, we'll see how well they do. Gave them all a vent trim and put my own roo in with them since I know he is fertile....

I bought a bunch of straight run "all heavies" I think they are either black astralorps or jersey giants, but,,, I have no idea.. of course.. they could be both or something else entirely.
