These two Blue Laced Red Wyandottes are hatch mates from last summer. I can only keep one. Is there a preferred look? The mostly red one on top is larger and gentler. The bottom roo (a Splash?) is smaller but scrappy. Neither one is aggressive. Would love some input on this. Thanks in advance!
Sorry this took so long. My camera has a dead battery and I thought I could replace it today and get you a pic, but that didn't pan out. I'm on the search for a new battery now. In the meantime, she seems to be eating ok. It takes her longer to eat and drink, but she is managing.
I've got a little female pilgrim gosling, 2 to 3 days old, who's got a pretty good sized underbite. I notice her having a hard time getting the food today - trying to grab it with the side of her mouth. Does anyone have experience with this or advice? Will she be able to feed herself or will...
I have 3, twelve week old Welsummer cockerels that I'd like to rehome. These are beautiful males that will make friendly roosters. Their father and older brothers have all been good natured. No shipping. Come and get one!
I've got 3 eight week old Welsummer cockerels, 2 four month old cockerels (one pure Welsummer, one mixed w/Blue Copper Marans) and 2 five month old Buff Orp. Roos. All are free to good homes. The Buff Orps. will become meat birds if they stay. Would love to find homes for the Welsummers. Thanks!
I've got 4 beautiful young Pilgrim Ganders this summer. The oldest is 10 weeks, the others are 8 and 7 weeks old. I would like these to go to a good home rather than become meat geese. Please contact me and I'll email pictures.
I have a newly hatched (May 29) pair of pure bred Pilgrim goslings - one male, one female.
Very healthy, fast hatch. I've got more eggs in the incubator that will hatch in about 2 and 3 weeks. This auction is just for this first pair. I won't ship them - pick up only. thanks!
Haven't hatched in my bator since last March! I'm really excited about this one because most of these eggs are my own - 8 Welsummers and 6 Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas. Last time I candled on day 17 all the Amer. were alive and kicking and the Welsummers were too dark to see anything. I'm...
I have 4 Pilgrims out in this and they seem to be fine. They are fat and healthy. They have a nice house, clean straw, warm water, feed, scratch and whole kernel corn. How long can they withstand these temps? It may just be me projecting my human 'stuff' on them, but I'm really feeling for...
I can only speak for Pilgrims since I've never had any Toulouse, but the Pilgrims are great birds. Friendlier as adults if you handle them when they're goslings, good alarm birds when someone enters the yard, beautiful, auto sexed through life. They are terrific parents. Our gander is three...
I have two Black Australorps from MacMurray Hatchery and they both go broody at the drop of a hat and are terrific mothers. I have kept them because they're such good setters and moms.
Hi there. Feelin for ya. I really get it. It's hard, but your birds bring you so much joy and you give them a great life, too. I, for one, have done lot's of things "wrong" and have learned the hard way.
In fact, I just lost a turkey hen out of my ignorance about turkeys.
I guess I just...
Steve, thank you so much! I checked her and sure enough - MITES! That poor hen was just waiting for me to figure it out. Then I went out and dusted the other turkeys and as many chickens as I could catch.
Today, I'm moving the turkeys down the road to a kind neighbors empty barn. They'll...
