I moved her today and you might think i was trying to murder her, she went crazy!!! I moved her back to her original spot and she is happy again, so it's up to her to do her thing. I will keep my fingers cross and hope everything goes well.
The other coop is too small for all of the others. Now i am nervous. She is in the nesting box favored by all of my hens, but they are not bothering her. I don't know what i am going to do.
Thanks for your advice. I can't wait to experience this, she is such a sweet hen and will be a great mom!! I hae 2 coops, should i move her and her eggs now, so she can be alone? Will this make her too lonely??
My Buff Orp. has gone broody, so i decided to let her become a mom. This is my first time,so any advice would be really appreciated. I would also appreciate stories of unexpected obstacles that have occured with your broody hens.
Thanks
Karen
I have 19 hens which are about 6 different breeds. They are all pretty friendly except for my 3 brown leghorns. They are the most unsocial flighty birds ever. Has anyone else noticed this??

I feel really bad because my RIR always seems to be on top of this one particular hen. Then to make matters worst, when he gets off i have another one who gets her before she can even get up. He is to small to get on her without help!! I also have two other hens who he is so sweet and gentle...
The saddles came in today and only one of the girls really put up a fight. I hope she get used to it, i would hate to see her loose her beautiful feathers!!!
I just ordered saddles for my hens. If anyone has used them can you please give me feedback. Do they work, do the hens show signs of being uncomfortable, can the hens remove them, and do they get dirty often??
Thanks,
Karen
I think they will be fine. Although i have quite a few, i tend to buy them in pairs and they stay together as a duo as they grow. I would just make sure that if something unfortunate should happen to one of them to replace it right away to avoid lonliness.
