I know this must have been asked a thousand times, but I have a broody hen that's been hanging out in the coop for about a month now. My wife is sick of being pecked from her when she retrieves the eggs and frankly, I'm sick of her loud, angry attitude as well. If this goes on much longer...

You should take that deal. You will never build one for that price with brand new lumber, wire and hardware. Good luck to you!

If you got a smoking deal on the coop, just cut windows out of the lower section and wire the open holes! Simple solution! Also, you could still paint the OSB. I made my coop out of OSB and put wood siding on the outside. I painted the outside and inside the same color and it looks great...

Welcome new chicken folks! I'm still a noob, but as far as breeds go, I have two Wyandots (sp) that are very hearty birds! Huge and with great personality. One Americauna that is very smart and for her size puts out a larger sized egg compared to the dots. I have recently introduced a Golden...

The coop is quite easy to clean, however if you are going to build a roosting perch, why not have a box underneath with Sweet PDZ under it for easier clean up? I love the set up and it makes quick work of cleaning up the coop since they don't turd much inside anyway aside from the roosting perch.

Here's a few pics of the poop box/roost. I really works great! I thought I'd throw in a pic of my coop as well. My wife calls the color "God awful Yellow"! I kinda like how bright and yokey it looks! The only thing I would change about the poop box is that I should have made the base a...

I'm at work till 10:30, so the pics will have to wait until later. It's basically a 1x2 mounted on top of a wooding floor (box) with Sweet PDZ in the box that acts like a kitty litter box. It's so simple and works great! I'll post pics tomorrow.
