What's the temperature where you are???

Yes it’s seems so I am sure. Then the grey mare gets kicking at the bay mare and they get running, this sets off the chickens squawking. And the horses get further naughty, and it pure bedlam for about 10 minutes. Then it will be peaceful again for a while 😉👍

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

I rarely get a good sleep, my RLS keeps me up at night. The barn cams entertain me some, and this week I have fallen down the rabbit hole re: Mycoplasmosis vaccine. There is a lot of data out there which is actually really interesting. Like that one article on the status of backyard flocks here.

Well I think both of you are amazing, my first cockerel was a terror! He attacked everyone, and although he was gorgeous, he was so big he would squash the poor Silkies, we had to rehome him. I was in a complete panic getting Mr P, but I really did luck out with him (thanks Bob for enabling me...

What's the temperature where you are???

A mild weekend in the low 20s. It’s 20C (69F) and overcast currently forecast high of 22C, calling for high winds this afternoon. Then the wet weather settles in, and likley wont get any further 20+C temps till next Spring. Though who knows? Seems anything goes this year!

What did you do with your flock today?

Are they Hoover Hatchery chicks (like their Midnight Majesty Marans)? I bought one last year, along with a Lavender Orpington (Laverne & Shirley) to throw under my broody silkie. Turned out Shirley was Sir Shirley! And a beauty he was, and very quiet and tame. What a gorgeous boy. When she/he...

The Bobsy twins are out and about, they dropped by to see if I was sharing my cheerios, then ran off when Ravens gave them a glare - apparently they are her cheerios!
