Hi everyone!
We are new chicken owners and these are our 5 week old Swedish Flower Hens. We got them as sexed chicks (2 day old). Would you guys want to have a look and see if they are indeed pullets? They have a bit of red coming in on their combs but since all of them have it to some degree...
I have six babies… About 4 to 5 weeks old. They are supposed to be blue red lace Wyandottes, but there may be a Swedish flower mixed in. What do y’all think? I know it’s hard to tell from the picture, but it kinda looks like one of them might be a Swedish Flower…and possibly another one.
Hi everyone!
We are new chicken owners and after much research picked up 4 Swedish flower hen chicks a week ago. They are now a little over a week old. I had a question regarding their coloring. I've seen that the SFH chicks come in brown yellow and black yellow. We have a batch of 4...
This is Berkeley, a Swedish Flower Hen hatched 2/21. It is my first and only SFH, and the oldest of my chicks (all others hatched 2/27 or later) so I can’t compare apples to apples. Berkely was purchased straight-run from a local breeder.
I know it’s early, but I’m guessing Berkeley is a...
here’s my sweetie Celeste, she’s a very sweet and mellow temperament ~2 yo hen.
we got her about a year ago and since she has started to molt she has an insane amount of white compared to a year ago. See photos :)
does she have vlitigo or is she a swedish flower hen or some other breed...
I have previously extolled the virtues of autosexing breeds, thinking I had found the best way to avoid unexpected cockerels. I still think it’s the best plan theoretically, but now I’m realizing I won’t be able to stick to it, or rather, I’ve already unintentionally deviated from it.
I have...
My Swedish flower roo, Biscotti, has always had beautiful colors… but now that he’s fully feathered out with adult roo feathers I've noticed he has blue/splash lacing on his chest. Is this normal or is he not pure?
This has been progressing since she started growing her adult feathers. Always took longer than her hatch mates which made me think she was a rooster as all my roosters took longer to feather out compared to the pullets.
It’s all over her body in spots so I can tell some of this couldn’t be...
Healthy, beautiful friendly (atm) 5 week old roos. Can’t keep them in Baltimore City. Willing to drive them reasonable distance to a farm or dedicated chicken breeder or chicken enthusiast.
Absolutely not for butcher.
Rare breeds. Email to make an offer.
What is a fair/standard price for selling my Swedish Flowers? They are considered a rare breed what should I charge for:
-hatching eggs
-straight run chicks
-6-8 week old pullets
-POL pullets
Thank you!
We now have our Swedish flower rooster and I’m eventually going to breed with Swedish flower hens but right now we are barnyard mixed I was just wondering if anyone had any Swedish flower crosses and what they looked like?! I’d love to see some pictures!
I just am so excited I had to show off our new and only boy! My son has decided to call him Cap as in Captain america or Steve 😂 but he is around 17-19 weeks, so friendly and non aggressive and so beautiful! He’s a Swedish Flower Rooster I can’t wait to see what beautiful crosses and chicks him...
Up for discussion is my gorgeous 8 week old black mille fleur Swedish Flower Hen cockerel. Hatched under a broody hen on April 22, 2023. Friendly - will jump up on your arm and eat from your hand. Vaccinated for Marek’s. Asking $25 but I’m very open to discussion if going to a good home...
I have a question about one of my 12 week old Swedish Flower Hens. I received two males and four females as can be seen in the pictures. However, one of my cockerels has a feather crest that does not seem to fit with the breed. Any thoughts?
Is it possible to determine sex of this chick? She or he is 3 1/2 weeks old. I thought she was a pullet, she looks like the rest of my chicks with a bit more pink. She was vent sexed female although I know mistakes are made.
Just got this beautiful Swedish Flower hen 3 1/2 weeks ago just hatched. Not sure of sex. Very pleasant and beautiful bird. Any thoughts would be appreciated. This is my first time having chickens. Enjoying them so much.
Hi all, I hatched these three SFHs and they're 6 weeks old. I'm wondering if anyone experienced with the breed has any guesses as to whether they're hens or cockerels? (Can't really tell by their behavior, they're all very friendly and assertive.)
1. White one (mostly white, with just a little...
