6 1/2 Week Old Swedish Flower is it a hen or roo? I’m thinking hen but not totally sure.

Hi 🙂, you have a very pretty bird there. For me, the wattles are the biggest clue here, a hen chick wouldn't usually start wattle growth at this age. I'm 90% confident this is a blue based crested cockerel chick, that said there's still a possiblity I'm incorrect. I find crested birds the most difficult to sex sometimes. The Cockerel chicks tend to appear to have the prettiest colours too very early on. In the next couple of weeks the wattles will get larger and pinker (of course) and it will be easier to tell the difference between the sexes. "Wattle watch" can keep one guessing for a few weeks though.
Genetically this cockerel would be a great breeding choice since they capable of producing all the colour variations of paired with blue based Hen. If you more than one crested it can be helpful to compare them. Good luck 🙂
 
Does everyone still think boy? 10 1/2 weeks old now.

At 10 weeks old i would expect a much bigger comb and wattles from a cockerel.

So im thinking pullet now
