I'm having the same problem with my hen. She is acting exactly the same way. I tipped her forward and she vomited clear stuff. I'm not sure what to do for her either.
I haven't seen her eat or drink anything that I can remember. You never pay much attention until one is sick. I will have to check her crop when I get home from work.
My 3 year old hen has been acting very lethargic and has been throwing up what appears to be clear drool. Not sure what to do with her, she just stands around. I have her separated from the rest of the flock. Please help!
Do BBW lay eggs? I went out into my turkey barn last nigth to close it up and low and behold there was a large white egg - pointy on one end. There was a chicken in the pen, but the egg was cold like it had been sitting there all day. My turkey is 6 months old.
I am so glad someone posted this question. My two girls have been acting the same way. Every time my fiance is outside working, my two girls follow him and then shake a little and sit down right next to him. There is no way you are going to move them either. That is the only time we are allowed...
I know turkeys play. Mine will run and jump and chase each other entertwining their necks and ducking. Yesterday, I watched on of my white BB chase after momma chicken, peck her on the behind, and then take off chasing her again. She'd stop, turkey would peck her behind again, then there they...
I kept my poults and meat chickies together for the first week then separated them. Those darn turkey poults found a way to get back with the meatie babies. So I guess for now they will be together. Those pouts are so darn cute. I'm a newbie to turkeys this year.
I know exactly how you feel jc. My little poults are the sweetest things. I'm in love too:love
This is my first time with turkeys too (I only have 3). Here in northern Ohio it's still chilly. I was hoping to put them outside pretty soon.
Wouldn't it be ok to put them out in their pen with a...

We did the same thing last year (our first year). My stump is about 3 feet high. I just washed it off after we were done.
Those meaties are so gross and stinky But boy do they taste good.
I have a Buff Orph who has been broody pretty much all the time since last fall. She is so crabby, we call her zombie. Go near her and she growls and snaps at you. It's funny though. I have food and water close to her, but I also throw her out of the coop when I get home from work and make her...
I'll try to post some pics as soon as I can. No doubt he will be special to us.
I think I am not meant to have a roo. The first one we had (a white leg horn) we had to get rid of because he kept attacking everyone and now this one
ms.cluckling :
was he born this way?
what breed is he?
I didn't notice his legs until about two weeks ago, I couldn't say if he was born that way or not. He is a Rhode Island Red.
My rooster is 4 weeks old. His legs are bent and he seems to be walking on his hocks(?). He hobbles around like a duck. Most of the time he sits by himself since he can't walk around as fast as the other chickens. Is there anything I can do for him? He doesn't seem to be in any pain, but I feel...
My very first order was from them last summer, and I continued to order from them all summer long. They are very friendly and very helpful. But, I only live 15 minutes down the street from them.
One order I placed last summer had an extra meatie in it and also one of my meaties died a couple...
My first year raising chickens was last year. I got a white leghorn roo. Started out ok until his hormones kicked in. Had to get rid of him cuz he attacked (as she claims) an old lady in the cemetary next door to me. I handled him daily and he still turned out rotten.
I also have 2 buff orphs...
Ok, What is Linux?
♥ I can do a heart too. I thought I was the only one who didn't kniw what it meant. One thing I don't like is all the abreviations - I guess my brain is too slow to figure out BTW, BRB, BBB, whatever. And while I'm on the subject what is DH and DW? I see it alot on here...
