    My Easter Egger Roos

I bought them as less than a week old on June 17th. They are almost 4 months old. They have had their present plumage for about a month or so.

    My Easter Egger Roos

They are working great. I need to put a catch pipe underneath the pipe as the ducks like to sit under the nipples with their beaks on the nipples and it runs on the ground. Gordon

    Updated Photos of my Ducks

Not harsh at all. I tore down our garage recently and I have no way of keeping them in the yard as there is a huge hole in the fence now. Working on getting the fence back up. There are HUGE dogs in almost every yard of the neighborhood. Guess I could put a tub of water in the pen off and on...

Integrating new birds to existing flock

I have a Buff Orpington pullet I tried once to integrate into the rest of the flock a few days ago. I don't want to leave her in with the 4 young roosters too long. The rest of the flock was inquisitive of the new bird. But she kept moving away from them. Nothing serious until I went back to the...

A Few of Our Buff Orpingtons

These are a couple of our Buff Os. I bought 5 males and got 4 roos and 1 pullet. Gonna keep 1 roo and the pullet.

    My Easter Egger Roos

I believe this (black and white one) is the choice of the two roosters that I am going to keep for breeding next spring. This is the other one. Both of my black and white Ameracaunas/EEs were roos.

    Updated Photos of my Ducks

Here are some new pics of our ducks I took today. The first is the Rouen Drake Quite a change since July 26th This is the Black Cayuga. Anyone want to venture a guess on whether it is a drake or hen? This is two of our White Pekins. The Drake feathers on the tail are easy to see. I...

    Question?

If you have ever seen one home in on a June Bug, you will know another reason to keep them. Their antics and focus is awesome.

Quote: AHHHHHHHH, I have six other ducks that are a little over 2 months old. 4 are Pekins, 1 is a Rouen and 1 is a Black Cayuga. I bought them straight run. But I am hoping that at least two of the Pekins are hens as well as the Rouen. I am fairly sure that the Black Cayuga is a hen as it...

    My new AUTOMATIC waterer

Thank you for the heads up on the bird feeder. That thing has been hanging there all summer long and that is the amount eaten since I put it up. Even before I had my poultry. But I will probably move it.

Cool. It is supposed to be a drake. I may keep this one. How is the breed overall for meat and egg production?

Wondering if the duckling in front with a white 'puffball' on the back of its head might be a Crested Pekin. I bought 3 male White Pekins almost a month ago from Ideal Poultry. This was them. The chicken next to them is a 2-minth old EE. The chicks in the background are 3 wk old BO cockerels.

    My new AUTOMATIC waterer

Here is the PVC pipe with the nipples in it. I now have the bucket sitting on some old crates. The handle wasn't strong enough to hold the weight of the water when full. OOPS! And I now have it lower on the fence. I took this pic a while back. The garage is now gone. I am in the last stages of...

    My new AUTOMATIC waterer

I just need to convince my ducks not to play with the water nipples. I have my yard tore up right now doing some gas line work and I can't let them run free as there is a hole in the fence where the old garage used to be. They also like to hog the water nipples by laying underneath them and snap...

    My little Rooster

I believe this is my covert crower. He only crowed twice while I was with the BO chicks so I didn't see for sure. This one is 8 wks old. He almost looks like he has a mullet on his neck. LOL

...of putting a PVC drip tray under the nipples since the ducks like to play with the nipples and keep the ground wet underneath. Not a problem so much in the 100* F, no rain since April weather we are experiencing here in TX. But that may end today. We are expecting a 30% chance of rain this...

    My little Rooster

I went out to check the birds' water just a bit ago. I got a little surprise. At least one of my pullets is not a pullet. LOL I just heard one of them crow twice. They are about 8 wks. old and this is the first one I have heard crow. Now to catch which one it is. Oh well, will be easy to tell...
