My daughter's high school graduation was last night in the rain and a thunderstorm. Thrilling, really, a double rainbow, amazing sunset, and nonstop rain. I decided it was a bunch of good omens because we needed the rain! Unforgettable!!- thedollysmama

My confusion, I thought you meant using a gutter as your container for sprouting as opposed to modified bookshelves or dish pans or whatnot. A gutter to transport water should do fine.- thedollysmama

My rinse water goes on my trees that would need to be watered anyway. I don't have an extravagant system by any means, 7 dish pans, so I'm not using much water with twice daily dampening. Can I just state that I have found the most amazing breed of chicken with regards to broodiness, the Japanese onigori (longcrower). My hen pulled off her fourth round of chicks this calendar year. I discovered her and the younglings in the hay loft just as I was in a huge hurry to get to work...- thedollysmama

. I would worm them and give them some corn for extra energy and see if that helps. Could they feel threatened by something? A predator or the perception of one can cause hens to be reluctant to sit long enough to lay. Just my opinion. Karen- thedollysmama
