I have a great pyrenese and he is awesome with our chicken, ducks, turkeys, quail etc... He runs around with them and never tries to harm them. He is a bigger dog but is just a great all around farm dog. We only have 2 acres but he owns them protects the flock very well.
Serama chicks from 5 days - 3 weeks. Our roo has better fertility rate than we expected. If you are in Central Texas area and want to see the Serama chicks, I would be happy to show you them and the parents.
Just like the coop I wanted mine to be all nice in the inside as it is on the outside so i let the girls move in before I finished it and within a day they had pooped all over the wall and flung stuff everywhere. I live in Austin no wormer no insulation grass will disappear quickly. Wait till...
Do I still have enough time to have them raised by thanksgiving? I am putting up a new are for the ducks and turkeys but still am not done. I have finished the chicken area and the ducks and chickens are together but i am not going to risk it with the turkeys.
I would love to find some feathered turkey poults in central, tx but open to other areas. I am looking for large bird breeds. This is my first round at turkeys so I am not sure on biggest breeds etc... I hope y'all can help me out.
Do y'all have any feed back on the nesting troughs? I have a 60X18X18 ready and was going to divide it into 3 large boxes but this sounds much better. I have really big chickens and was wondering if this maybe too tall? I have 3 boxes now they all use the "big" box 16x16x16 and the we have a...
Wow what an awesome bird! I love our quad just so much fun. I want to add a couple more soon. How long till they normally lay. We are still waiting for our first egg patiently I will add.
He just sounds funny now my brahma rooster just started to crow. It is very deep sounding where Zeus is high pitched. I thought maybe the voice changes as they get older. He is so small so I couldn't imagine it any deeper. Would he try to sound more manly?
My Serama Rooster Zeus is the happiest little guy runs around and crows non stop. Yesterday he came out and his crow sounded like it was real hoarse almost scratchy. Does this have anything to do with puberty/growing into a man thing or is he sick? He is just as energetic as always but his crow...
My lav orp pullet has been acting a little funny for a couple days now. She has been avoiding the rest of the flock and seems very lethargic. Today at roost time, I caught her on the floor not on the roost and this green poo underneath her. I checked her over and she feels skinny but no lumps. I...
I had my sign and name years before we broke ground so I think that it is normal. Make sure that you build your coop using chicken math. My wife and i agreed on only 5 and now have 14 and I want more.
My girls and boy are afraid of bowls and plates. We have tried to get them to eat out of a bowl or off a plate. When we set it down on the ground they go running off and the treat/food etc just sits. I try daily but no change. Do any of you have any ideas I can try?
