if a person wanted to by pass the expense of an incubator, how effective would it be to put the eggs under a broody bantam hen? how would that compare to letting the pheasant hen raise the brood?
if a person had a slow producing giant breed, would it increase production to take their eggs & put them under a pair of captive wilds or homers instead? would the foster parents be able to raise the giant breed chicks to eating size effectively?
what would be the IDEAL environmental conditions for guineas to free range & raise their own chicks say even to the point of establishing a small resident feral population?
what would be the best breed for such a situation?

what are the labor requirements, equipment needs, and environmental needs to get started raising quail? say you're trying to convince someone that you KNOW shouldn't get involved with them.
why should anyone interested in raising their own meat get into quail? "sell me against quail" will be the next thread so try to keep them sort of seperate please.
i love dove and was wondering if anyone had eaten the excess produced by their doves? if so could you give particulars about the age butchered and how they dressed compared to say wild doves?

so just to verify there are giant breeds that are not necessarily good for squabs because of low reproduction rates the runt being the main one, what if any are the others in this class?

i am looking for something to help feed the family that won't take too much of my hunting time. i like to hunt predators w/dogs and that demands a lot of my free time. large stock just isn't an option so i have been looking into small stock. so far most everything is too time consuming...
