Located in the Capital District of NY. Kdg. classroom needs some fertile eggs but I guess they are not always easy to get at this time of year. Featherz has some I can get. Does anyone else have some that I could buy?

Happy to report my fears were unfounded. Despite my imperfect incubating, 13 chicks have hatched today! One day before the actual hatching day. Looks like others are pipping too. I would like to thank featherz and happyhensny for their fresh and interesting eggs! Also received some silkies from...
I candled the eggs with the kdg. class last week. Almost all fertile. All showed activity. The candler was a QFG cool lite -just bought. There was nothing cool about it. Was very hot. Tried to do it for only a short bit and unplug it inbetween. I'm wondering if they got too hot. This week I see...
Set some eggs in school in two incubators. Had a third which had been used 2 times before. Cleaned it out with a spray clorox based solution. then washed with soap and water. Had a clorox smell so ran it a day. washed again. Still had a smell. Left it open for a week. Seemed better. Started it...
Well I set the eggs in the incubators yesterday at school. All conditions seemed right but for some reason, the little bit of water I added kept the humidity too high so I removed most of it. Hope it settles down to a good level. The temp was going a little higher than comfortable even though I...
I've set up the forced air fan Hovabator that I've used the last 2 years. Everything is set to go in that classroom. Just pulled out the other Hovabator that a teacher had given me from a Guilderland school. Thought it was the same as mine. I see that it is "STILL AIR"! I'm feeling very insecure...
Have a Hovabator Genesis 1588 with the egg turner. It can hold around 40 eggs but I've never put that many in. I looked on the site for information about how many eggs are best to be in an incubator that size. Wouldn't there be an issue with not enough oxygen (even with the plug open?)

Looking for those nearby who can give me advice on aspects of incubating eggs in this area of NY. Saw that Cass and ?hens from Voorheesville raise chickens. Anyone out there know a good place locally to get fertile eggs?

I have hatched eggs twice in the kdg. classrooms. First time, the hatch was great 14/17. Was like a mother hen constantly checking temp/humidity etc. Have a hovebater 1588 with automatic egg turner. I had ordered eggs which were shipped from nearby Connecticut. The next year the hatch was...
