I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what got my ducks!!!
My mallard female was eaten, cleanly, at both ends. We found her under/behind a a partition she liked to sleep under.
We found the larger domestic 40' away. She was drug out of the pen through the pasture at the back of the barn...
We are starting to think about relocating our mallards. The 4 youngest are pretty wild and fly frequently but will allow us to herd them in at night(if they're already in the fence). Anyway, some friends have a couple large ponds and are wanting them. So my questions are: should we wait until...
I would like to find new homes for my ducks...the pic is of the young ones, black one is a domestic. All fully feathered now.
2 domestics
1 pair of adult Mallards
4 young mallards
These are pets, though we eat eggs, we don't eat our pets.

Hi all Okies!
I am wanting/needing to rehome my ducks. I have a mating pair of Mallards(1 year olds)and 5 babies that are approx. 5 weeks old. Also a 6-7 week old black domestic and another grown domestic about a year old. Somewhere they have a pond and/or pools would be great as they really are...
Hi All,
We have a male mallard that is about a year old and he is with a female mallard and a female domestic(?). She is at least twice his size. Anyway, this spring around first part of April maybe even late March he was clearly trying to mate with both females. The domestic went broody but all...
We recently acquired 3 ducks through some trading. I don't know what breed they are, possibly one is a Pekin and the other two look mixed. We already had a Mallard Drake that someone gave us as a baby this spring. Well, now someone gave us a Mallard hen. Apparently all the ducks given to us were...
We have a pair of geese and the male is the typical aggressive goose(gander?) Anyway, I have had them since a week of age. He is getting increasingly aggressive and I am sure by the time next spring and breeding season arrives I wont be able to go in there at all. He recently pecked all the back...
Hi all,
I am in Bixby, Ok. and I have a beautiful healthy pair of African geese that need a new home. I would be willing to travel some to get them to a good home but I can't ship them. If someone would even take the male it would help. He is not getting along with the chickens or the duck and I...
Hi all,
I was given a baby female mallard a while back and she can't quack. Usually if animals are mute they are also deaf.
Anyway, she has started to fly.I don't think she means to leave her pen but if the geese get to running around and flapping their wings she gets to going and then before...
Never know where exactly to post things so will start with Oklahoma people as that is where I live.
I have a pair of 4mo(approx.) geese I would like to trade for ducks. I have been told they are African Toulouse and Chinese so not sure what breed they are. I have had them since they were 4 days...
Hi all,
We bought two geese at the local feed store this spring. Found out they are Toulousse(sp?). Anyway, I think we got a male and a female. Not sure if they are siblings or not but likely considering there were only 4 to start with and from the same breeder.
Can these two breed or rather...
I bought 2 new baby geese at our feed store. The owner didn't know what breed they are but couldn't resist. They talked and talked to me and walked right up to me. I am hooked on these little creatures!! And funny to watch, oh my goodness, I know where the term 'silly goose' came from now...
My silkies have been broody for a while now so I decided to let them set on some eggs. They actually sit on everybodies eggs but I didn't want to have any more RIR's so I let them set on silkie eggs. Honestly I have never seen our Silky rooster mate with any Silkies so I wasn't expecting any...
The local feed store advised me to start giving the chickens oyster shell calcium and layer food at 16 weeks of age or when they start laying. They also said I should add grit to their food in small amounts as we don't really have any gravel or rock like things in our yard. Also, we shouldn't...
My chickens are now approximately 3 1/2 mo old. When and what do I switch them to for food? I have been told at 16 weeks to change them to a non medicated layer food.
