Has anybody ever made clothing out of vintage pillow cases. I use to make the pillow case dresses all the time with them, but daughter is getting to tall for the dresses. I think I will do skirts. Has anybody ever made tops out of them?
Do cats bother chickens? My neighbors cat has been hanging out lately and last night I went to lock the girls up and the neighbors cat had just gone into the coop as I was getting out there. Should I be concerned?
Thanks
Five of my hens are peckinga at my brahma--any ideas to help with hen pecking during the winter months--I think they're board a picking on Wobbles for something to do.
Thanks,

I had a bloody egg today. Went to check for eggs and there was one that was covered in dried blood. Is this normal. I think this might be the first egg from this pullet. All the eggs I have gotten so far have been brown this one was white and small.
Thanks,
Nicole
EGG!! We have been waiting for this to happen for 3 months! My daughter was so "eggcited." So far we have had one a day since then. So this morning we ate them for breakfast.
If I need to kill some grass around the coop, what is the best way to do this without the chickens getting in it?
I would like to landscape around it, but we have crab grass and it needs to be gone before I can plant anything. Any ideas?
Thanks
I got two new chickens about 3 weeks ago and when we got them home I noticed their feet were "dry/flakey." After reading a post in another forum, I think they might be mites. Is there any other way to get rid of them without using vasaline? One of the girls has feathered feet and it is hard...
What does everybody do to control flies in their coops? I "scoop poop" every other day usually, but still have flies that hang around. I was wondering what else can be done to control them.
Thanks
Does anybody know where to find chickens/laying hens in Kansas?
And if there is anybody from Kansas who could help answer a few questions on their coop designs that would be wonderful!
