I got a dozen OEG bantam eggs for hatching. All but one chick look the same. The rest are black with a little bit of yellow (Or white) on the tips of their wings, under their belly and under their beaks.
What colour will this one be? I'm stumped.
This came from one our RIR laying hens, (they are in laying cages, so yes I know it was hers). She has been laying every day without a problem, in the picture is the egg she laid just yesturday.
This weird egg doesn't have a shell, it feels like the yolk of a hard boiled egg, and when I cut it...
Sorry but I need to vent! I'm having a rough go of things this morning.
So this morning I went out early to feed the animals, I was only out for about 15-20 mins max, and I came back in the house to find my 4 yr old son standing in the laundry room where all my incubators, hatchers, and...
Okay here is the first chick, about 2 and half months old. I call "her" Punky Brewster, but might have to change it to Don King if its a boy. I haven't seen it play fighting at all.
And here is the second one, this one is just 2 months old. I don't have a name for this one. I haven't seen...
I picked up a few chickens, just wondering on what everyones thoughts are on what they are. I believe all are mixes.

So I know this ones a frizzle, but what kind of frizzle?
Thanks everyone!
What colour do you get when you cross a gold lace with a silver lace? I'm sure its not that cut and dry, but would would the possibilities be?
In this case its a silver laced wyandotte roo with a gold laced wyandotte hen.
Thanks!
I'm getting desperate here! lol. I'm looking for some silkie eggs to hatch. Looking for grey, blue, splash and partridge. No whites. Just can't find any other colours around here and its driving me nuts!
Need shipping to N0P 1W0 Merlin, On, Canada. Thank you!
This might be a silly question, but I've never had to do it. I just bought this chicken yesturday and it has a bit of an over grown beak. How do I trim it? Do I just snip off the end with a pair of hoof nippers or should I file it with something? Thanks.
This is my roo "Elvis" (cuz he's The King). I've had him since he was a 2 week old chick, the lady I had got him off of was told they were pure cochins, but we knew they weren't and took them anyway.
Just wondering what everyone thinks he might be. Thank you!
Elvis and his lady "Bramha Mama".
Okay I need some help here. I'm pretty sure I know what hey are, but I need some reasurance, because anything that's a roo goes to the sale tomorrow because they aren't SQ. They are all 6 months old.
Okay so I know that these are a pair. Mostly just using them as a "guide".
I thought this one...
Opps! I went out this morning to find my silkie rooster in with my black sex link laying hens, having quite a "fun" time. I will probably still eat the eggs, but since I'm looking for eggs to hatch anyway, I wondered what the babies might look like. I would be keeping whatever I hatch.
Does...
I've just been given an older style cabinet style incubator. It holds 1000 eggs!!!!!! *Picks jaw up off ground*
I don't really have much to put in it. And finding eggs in canada is next to impossible!
So I'm wondering is this a blessing or a curse? lol
I already suffer from ilovechickensitis...
I have 8 little white silkies for sale. They are about a month old. Located in Tilbury, On. Can meet in Essex, London and Chatham areas. Sexes are not known, but 3 look pretty "rooish" to me.
There are 5 bearded and 3 non bearded.
My Silver Spangled Hamburg Bantam hen eats her eggs, this has been an ongoing issue ever since I got the pair, I'm going to take a wild guess, but I bet this is why they were for sale.
I have added extra calcium to their regular feed which is a cracked corn and poultry layer mix.
I've tried...
