    Question about outside....

    I have 10 silkies. 2 of them are 7 weeks on Monday, and my little ones are 3.5 weeks. When is it okay to put them all outside? I don't want to move the older ones out, and then the little ones later, since I want them all to stay together. Should I wait until the little ones are 5-6 weeks...

    New chicks don't seem to be settling down for the night....

    I brought two puffballs home a couple hours ago, and it is getting pretty dark. They don't seem to be settling down at all. They're in a clear storage bin, could that be the problem? Should I maybe put a small box or something in there so they have something dark to go into?

    Putting baby chicks with older chicks?

    Well, after finding out that my chicks won't ship for a month, I'm considering going to a local hatchery and picking out a couple babies. Would there be any problems with putting the new babies with the older chicks?

    Just ordered chicks!

    I just placed my order for 8 gray silkie chicks from Ideal! Everyone cross your fingers for me that I get mostly girls. LOL. Oh, and a blue splash girl! I REALLY want one! They'll ship out the 29th, and I will post pics when I get them, and get them all set up in their brooder!

    Coop Suggestions?

    I'm looking at getting started with chickens. I still have to get my husband on board, but I have a feeling he will go for it! I'd like to get a coop with an attached run. We are not very DIY people over here, but if something comes with all of the parts, I can put it together easy enough...
