When I go in and retrieve the eggs one of them are cracked and all I find is the shell. Is there something that is missing in the food or is it something else
I have a golden comet hen that is about 1 year old and she cannot walk on one leg.the leg is warm and has movement in the toes. I see no breaks and do not feel anything out of the ordinary. She just does not bear weight and hops around. I currently have her in a crate in the coop so she doesn't...
I have a female gold-laced wyndotte with a large wound near by her hip. I do not know how she got it. She has been eating drinking pooping and laying eggs right along. When I looked at it today there is no blood just the skin is apart and a large cut. Can I spray some blue mote on it. Also she...
I have.a hen that is not a year old yet and she has a very messy vent area. I think it is vent fleet and the veterinarians in my area do not work on chickens. I live in central NY and cannot clean her bottom because of the cold weather. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep her clean.
I live in upstate NY and I have a question about my chickens. This is my first winter with the chickens. Can they run outside in the snow? I plan on opening the chicken door on the coop and if the chickens want to come out in the snow they can or if they want to stay in the coop they have that...
