My hen, Violet, a lavender orpington, has multiple symptoms and I am not sure which direction to go with her.
She is walking very slow, choosing to stand a majority of the time, weight loss, not eating, and has yellow/white diarrhea, She has no abdominal swelling. I do not feel any hardened...
I thought that I had my incubator (still air, no turner, old style with light bulb as heat source, water with sponge x2 for humidity) stabilized as it remained at 102 all afternoon. I set the eggs last night and woke up at 6 Am (about 6-7 hours later) to find the temp at 104! I immediately...
Am I crazy or is this looking like a little roo? I know the chick is only 6 weeks but I have a feeling lol. Also, do self blues have any black at all? This one seems to have a small amount on his/her head. Thank you
I am expecting 12 eggs from a chocolate roo over 3 black and 1 chocolate hen. I lack in genetics knowledge so was wondering what color ratio you all thought I might end up with? Thank you very much.
I am considering asking for this incubator for mothers day. Have any of you used it? What are your thoughts?
What do you feel is a good incubator at a decent price? Thank you
I hope the title wasn't too confusing. I am planning on worming my older flock of 6, 1 year olds today. I have 8-10 week old chicks in a separate area inside...waiting to go out soon. How long must I wait after worming my current flock to introduce the new chicks into the coop? What...
Please help. I have a 9 week old silky who is sneezing and has clear nasal drainage, nothing with eyes or other repiratory symptoms. Do I treat her with Tylan 50 injectable orally? Or do I try something else first? As of now she is the only 1 of 10 who has any symptoms. Do I treat them too?
I purchased two week old Australorp pullets and am wondering if anyone would like to attempt to confirm that they are indeed pullets? Thank you

I started my flock last spring so my girls are nearly a year old and have not molted at all. I am not sure if this is molting? I do have one rooster but he is 1/4 to 1/3 her size and doesn't seem to be able to mate with my large hens. I have 3 standard size hens and
she is the only one like...
We have a beautiful campine hen, 2 red sex link hens, one white sex link hen, one sultan hen and one rooster who is possibly a Mille Fleur mix.
The small rooster can successfully mate with only the campine, due to his size. The big girls just ignore him. Since he hit puberty and began mating...
Hello everyone,
This is our first year with chickens and we could sure use some advice. We are concerned that our red sex link hen, Rosie, appeared with a droopy comb today and hasn't layed in two days. She has layed an egg every day since she started laying early this summer. Her comb is still...

My sultan hen has been found by myself with a bloody foot or feet 3 times now. I bring her in and wash her feet, keep her in overnight, and put her back out with the others once she is cleaned up and not bleeding anymore. I am not sure how she is breaking them but I assume that her feet feathers...
