    Hatching Silkie Eggs!!! Very low hatch rate

    Hello Everyone!! Happy Spring!!!! I have tried hatching 2 batches of silkie eggs. I only got 2 out of 13 on the first one. And 3 out of 13 on the 2nd one. Is there a something I should be doing different with them versus regular chicken eggs? TIA

    What would cause a chick to die after it pips through the shell?

    On my 2nd hatch now. 2 have hatched fine. Its day 22. I had 2 pip through the shell but something happened they died soon after. I also have 10 that have done nothing yet. Is there something I should be doing?

    Homemade remedies for worms and such?

    I read you can give chickens cooked rice with cayenne pepper and garlic powder for worms and help for mites. If so is there anything I can substitute the cayenne pepper with? Or if anyone has any other recipes I would love the info. TIA
