i assume this has been asked before but does anyone know how much freezer space is required per bird? Maybe a rule of thumb?
I am going to be processing 150 Cornish x in 6 weeks and trying to plan ahead.
I am raising my first batch of Cornish X chickens. They are 2.5 weeks old.
Last night I noticed while watering them that there are some that have a very loose watery light tan colored stool. Most have solid brown droppings.

i had 3 bourbon red turkeys, I lost the last one this AM.
They were about 6 months old.
Died over the last 3 weeks 1 a week....
They acted very tired before they died. Looked like some loose greenish stools...
I would like to replace them but not sure why the did die and don't want the same to...

So my coop is about 200' from my house. I have 40 laying hens in there with 2 of the 3.5 gal waterers you get at tractor supply....
I am carrying 1 gal jugs of water every night and it's not fun....

I have some 5-6 month old hens that are just starting to lay. They seem to be laying soft eggs and doing in the middle of the coop. As soon as they lay one all the other hens quickly swarm over and eat them.
They have layed hard eggs and they seem to be left alone.

We have about 25 chickens in a large coop, all mixed breeds and ages we have picked up here and there. No real way to tell the ages.
We haven't been getting the number of eggs we would have thought. (8-12 a day)
