    Went out to feed the birds and found my bronze black shoulder male dead. I am so frustrated that I think I might be done replacing birds. This was the only bird I lost this winter and we have had a horrendous winter and it had to be my favorite and most expensive one. UGH!!!!!!

    LOst my charcoal today

    Ugh, something got in and killed my charcoal male today. ATe his head off. Whatever it is also has wiped out 4 seramas and a small flock of chickens that were locked in a 2x4 welded wire pen. SO frustrated. Was thinking rats but now leaning towards weasel since it killed an adult peacock. Ugh

    Males droping trains

    Well it is that time of year again. All of my males except two have dropped about 80% of their trains. Figures right when two of the hens start laying again. Gonna throw the eggs in the bator just in case. Any one elses males dropping as well.

    for the experts? sperm rfetention?

    I have a swinhoe hen that I discovered sitting on six eggs. however her mate was killed halfway through this winter. Is it possible these eggs have a chance at being fertile? I took them and put inm the incubator cause I picked her up a new mate at Mt. hope yesterday.
