all locked into the coop last night. there is a screened door with hardware cloth. barn windows that tilt in for fresh air. Nothing really eaten. just all killed. Hardly a drop of blood. The critter even found its way out. Any ideas what it might be?
I'm trying desperately to find a black japanese bantam pullet or 2 Ages 4-5 months.... Does ANYONE know someone who will ship ASAP? I dont have much of a price limit.
Please send them my way... THANK YOU!
I came home today and saw a few little birds following a chicken around. I don't count my birds everynight! I thought maybe some song birds were mingling with my hens. Upon closer inspection we now have 3 little chicks running around the yard. I can't WAIT to see how they turn out.
I'm thinning out the flock to special on just a few breeds. Birds are 10-13 months old unless otherwise noted

I've got about 35 eggs in the bator. Some test fridge eggs and a bunch of ameraucanas and welsummer and barnyard mutts....
Anyone on teh same time frame as me?
I have two roosters free. One is from Mc Murrarys, a barred bantam cochin natched may 25, 2009. Another is a black mutt hatched Aug 21, 2009.
Both have been vaccinated for Mareks.
Photos available upon request. I'd have to go out and take them. We just have too many roosters.
I've attached a picture of my gorgeous hen "newspaper" we just love her! We hatched her from a bunch of eggs we got from an uncle last August. Trouble is we love her so much we want more of her. If anyone has any ideas what we could breed to get more like her, I'd love it.
THanks again...
I have a super tiny EE from Mc Murray. She is healthy and laying and broody every once in awhile. She was broody for abou 2 weeks and she just started laying again. She has ALWAYS had a bluish/purple comb. Darker legs. She is a peanut. I haven't weighed her but there is NO way she is even...

There were two eggs in the nest box this morning. I decided to leave them there and see if anymore got laid today. I came back this afternoon and the whole box is cleared out. There isn't even any straw in there.....
What could it be?
Several free 9-week old cockerels and 1-23 week old lakenvelder rooster.
I just have too many roosters. Some of the 8-week olds are from breeder stock in GA. I hatched these myself! Bargains stock of Speckled sussex, rhode Island Reds, Welsummer and the rest are my barnyard mutts.
Gimme a...
I had 25 8 week olds in the teen ager pen. Today I put them in with the 23 week olds. Seems to be going well so far. 4 of the teen agers are pissing me off. They are avoiding me AND wont follow the others into the big coop.
I'll keep you updated on how it goes. They are all staying in...
