Here it is.
... and a good example of cruel stupidity.
Excerpt:
The hen's only function, then and now, is to lay an egg a day. If she didn't, she became a candidate for Sunday night dinner.
We even put timers on the lights in the hen house to turn them on early so the hens would think it...
Alas, I have to part with some roosters. I love roosters, and I love these guys. They are true blue wheaten ameraucanas, and they are nice fellas. Unfortunately, because I hatch my own, I can't keep all the roosters I hatch. Recently, we've had bobcat attacks at our farm (some of you may...
Does anyone have experience with trapping foxes? I just ran down the mountain in my bare feet through nettles and multiflora to snatch one of my pullets from the jaws of death.
It actually could have been a bobcat. I was not ten feet from it, and it seems crazy that I wouldn't be absolutely...
There's nothing to be done about this. I have called the FAA. I have seen, with my naked eye, 2 out of the three identifying numbers on the helicopter, and from my description, the (very nice) FAA person says it sounds like a police or Federal vehicle.
It is not even as high as the tops of the...

Blessed chick: Hen that lays green eggs
Associated Press
Wednesday, January,30 2008 (Mexico city):
Ordinary-looking hen with brown feathers has become a celebrity in Cuautitlan, a small village north of Mexico City...
Have we seen this article here, yet?

I tried to postthis last night, but for some reason I couldn't get on the forum...
Of course, if people are buying from me, they're buying eggs from TRUE free-range, pasture raised hens. We won't always have extra eggs to sell, though, so I want to encourage people to buy eggs from humanely-raised hens at the grocery store, too... as well as to buy eggs packed in products that...
I hate to give her up; she's a sweet bird who has just begun laying, and lays every day. She's easy to pick up and handle; docile, a sweetie.
The problem is that she has developed an obsession for foot feathers. She doesn't bother any other feathers, but she will try to pluck out the...
One of my Wheaten Ameraucanas has just begun laying. She clearly hasn't gotten the hang of it, yet. The first day she flew up into the ledge of a window and tried to lay her egg there. It rolled off and broke on the concrete below.
Today I watched her looking all around for a place to lay...
It's progress, of a sort, although these poor birds are still terribly abused:

I love wheatens!
Post photos here, if you have any.
I have a couple Wheaten Ameraucanas: one Wheaten and one blue Wheaten.
Here's Lily, the Wheaten:
She's also the hen in my avatar. She likes to pose: what a supermodel!
Here's her close-up, Mr. DeVille:
And this is Galatea, our blue...
Just thought I'd throw this out for discussion:
I was starting to get rather worried about my Tillie. Her beak was getting rather long on the end. It was so thin on the very tip you could see right through it. It was as if it wasn't getting worn down enough. It wasn't interfering with her...
Here's is a link to the Owlbeard at Feathersite--very interesting bird! (They even have blue ones, SpeckledHen!)
This is a blue hen:
Here's a close-up of a rooster, not sure what color:
I love the V comb. Very unusual.
(The photos are from a Dutch club site.)
This is Lily, a Wheaten Ameraucana posing for the camera.
It's actually tough to get pictures of her, becuase most of the time when she sees me she comes running!
Here is Mathilde (Tillie), a sweet Salmon Faverolles hen:
This is Tillie and the Dauphin, a White Faverolles rooster, taking...
