    Any Ideas?

    I got this roo as a chick from the feed store. I had thought he was a barred rock and now I'm not so sure. He's the darker one in the middle. He's looking so much darker than my other barred rock roo and he's got brown around his neck and sides. Any ideas what he might be?

    Advantages of elevated coop?

    I'm wondering what the advantages are, if any, of a coop built up off the ground? Would this design be more advantageous for keeping predators at bay? If so what type? I'm mainly considered about racoons and possum's.

    Fuzzy pics to share

    The barred rock hatched Tue. morning and the buff orpington later that afternoon. They are now in the brooder and all are getting along great!!     Making a home made incubator

    I'm a complete rookie and just starting my adventure in raising chickens. I want to start out by hatching my own chickens. I'm looking for advice on what everyone else has found to be the best way to go for a homemade incubator. Would an aquarium work well?
