I am worried because I had 11/34 eggs hatch yesterday (day20) and since then, no pips, chirping, nothing.
It seems all the chicks that hatched (save one) were one breed (cochins)...
Today is only Day 21...can they take a break from hatching? Or are they likely dead? It has been about 16...
I am very excited, 32 eggs and it is day 20, we have 7 pips.
I have Wheaten ameraucanas and giant cochins set - but, only the cochins have pipped.
Is this normal for different breeds to react or hatch at different times?
Thanks for your thoughts...

Hello,
I set eggs yesterday evening (3/15)
I am using a LG with forced air and a new turner. I set up the incubator the day before, and had temps stable.
Since putting the eggs in, the side with more eggs is always cooler (99.2) . The side of the incubator (the left) where there is a 3" gap...
Please forgive my repost, but no one has yet responded. I have called my vet but they are out of the office this weekend.

Hi,
I have a sweet Ameraucana pullet that is about 13 weeks old, and she is suddenly weak tonight, head hanging, seems to have little muscle tone. When I move around her, she will pick up her head and look normal for a few seconds, and then slowly go back to head down. She is eating, however...
I incubated/hatched 35 chicks the first of May. Most of them are about 5 weeks old.
This morning when I went out to the house, I opened the door and my one little female blue polish was laid out flat on the shavings...dead. She had no marks, did not appear to be ill at all, but was quite...
Hi, I am a newbie hatcher...
This chick is different from my other giant cochins...He came into the world with very little down, and still has very short, almost nonexistent feathering on his back and head. Is this a genetic defect, or a hatching problem? Thanks!!!
PS - he/ she is 3 weeks old!!!
Hello,
I have my first-ever incubated hatch of bantam and large fowl cochins I purchased from this board.
Anybody have an idea what color these may be? Thanks!!!
Picture 1 - cochin banatam from pens of mille fleur, buff, and/or partridge cochins. Could it be a mille fleur...
These are ameraucana chicks hatched out 2 days ago. I purchased the eggs from a farm in NC. They are from wheaten, blue wheaten, and "true blue wheaten" stock. Im not sure what the last is.
Anybody care to guess color?
Thanks
Hello all...
I purchased purebred cochin eggs from three sources, and hatched these guys yesterday. Does anyone have experience with chick colors ?
I am most interested in the first photo, it is possible the two bantam cochins include a mille fleur...What do you think on these two?

I have a chick who is rampaging through the bator. It has turned several already pipped eggs over. Will this kill them, can they hatch if the pip is upside down?
Help!
The eggs will have been 21 days tonight, but this chick was born last night. He(or better yet, she) is kicking and jumping over the unhatched eggs.
should I take him out? How soon? I am a nervous nellie.

I am a first time hatcher, and I have two "pips"...they are 1 1/2 days earlier than expected.
I have two questions...
I opened the incubator (GASP!) will they live? I think I knew better...
How long will it take to hatch from here?
Thanks....
I have two bantam cochins who have been sitting loyally, and the first one had two babies hatch today. She has 3 more eggs, and I have read that you should remove the first babies so she will stay and hatch the others.
Is this true, or is it okay to leave them all together?
I have her crated...
I would like to start a breeding flock of amerucanas, and possibly Arucanas as well. I would like to find hatching eggs from show quality or high quality stock, or young chicks.
I am in Virginia. I would like birds from 2-3 different sources to protect from inbreeding. If you have some...
Hi there...I am looking to get into breeding/raising Araucanas, Amerucanas, Marans, and Cochins.
I currently have 3 Araucana hens, two Americuana pullets, and a pair of large buff cochin pullets.
I am looking for a breeder in virginia or nearby that has some excellent broodstock from these...
Hello and thanks for welcoming me to this forum. My husband and I operate a dairy operation, and I have a small flock of free range chickens. I am interested in breeding and raising purebred Araucanas and Cochins.
