I have 2 male buff orpington chicks I ordered from McMurray two weeks. Everytime I stick my hand in the brooder they always charge my hand pecking at it, one more so than the other. Is this a sign they're going to be aggressive roos if they're aggressive as chicks??? I've always had orps every...
Has anyone purchased these from Ideal hatchery or My Pet Chicken, which one would you recommend? If you have pics of your stock that was purchased from there, please post them. Or I'm on the look out if there's a breeder that has hatching eggs for sale. Thx.
Does anyone have any Exchequer Leghorn hatching eggs for sale? I'm located in SW Missouri. Looking for a dozen but will take half a dozen if that's all that's available. Please post pics of your stock. Thx!
Calling Barred Rock breeders (standard size only), I'm looking for half dozen to a dozen hatching eggs from your Show Quality stock ONLY. Will need to see pics of your parent birds to verify you have what I'm looking for. Please email them along with your asking price.
Thanks!!
First of all, I want to thank all of those who offered to help support my daughter with her Flat Stanley school project. Despite a couple of lost Stanleys in the mail, we had some great adventure stories come back to us & so many of you included great pics & souvenirs. Thank you thank you thank...
I was so excited to order my very first hatching eggs by mail.....until Saturday. When I candled them at 7 days, only 3 out of the dozen were good. How disappointing!
I wasn't expecting them all to hatch by any means b/c I'm aware of the many things that can happen while eggs are in transit...
Hey would any of you bee keepers be interested in letting Flat Stanley come for a visit? That be make for a great learning experience to share in my daughter's class.
For more info see the Me, My chickens, my family section - page 9, Come be a part of our Flat Stanley project.
I noticed the other day my blk australorp has this poofy bugle under her vent area, not directly under but like a couple of inches down. At first I thought she had an egg stuck but when I touched it, it wasn't hard at all. In fact, it just feels like a big air bubble. I have no idea how long...
I've been planting them for the last 5yrs or so, always in the same place. This year I'd like to plant them all around the yard, so I'm looking for fresh ideas for new climbing set-ups, archs, arbors. If you've got pics of yours I'd love to see them.
I've been debating this last year whether or not to get some, is there anyone here who raises them? I'm curious how well they lay, broodiness, personality, etc. If you have some, please post your pics.
My new calico! Got her off Craigslist. Apparently she was a stray that some guy took in for a couple of months but he's a trucker & since he's not home much, decided she needed a home that could give her more attention. Hooray for me! She's a real sweetheart but somebody told a little white lie...
Hi everyone!
I'm taking volunteers for those who would like to participate in my daughter's Flat Stanley project.
If you have kids, especially younger ones, chances are all you moms out there have heard of the national F.S. project or perhaps your child has/is participating in it now. Great...
