Bumble Foot???
I noticed this on my girl's foot on Monday, I feel horrible for not noticing it sooner, is it bumble foot???? I've had to treat bumble foot in the past but nothing that looked like this. Just wanted to verify it's bumble foot & not something else.- Sue S

Egg bound duck????
Does being egg bound cause wet feather???? I have a 6yr old Rouen female, she hasn't been laying alot, the last egg she laid was about a week ago & it was a soft shelled tiny egg. I can feel something on the lower right side of her stomach, it's hard & feels like an egg. I've given her 2...- Sue S

Angel Wings
I just resuced a Muscovy & a Cayuga both are approximately 1 yr old, ( so I was told). The Muscovy has Angel Wings, can someone please give me some advice on how to help/fix them. -

Duck with severe bumblefoot
Advice needed...... I've been trying to treat severe bumblefoot on my duck for a couple of weeks, Epsom salt soaks, removing the scab, applying neosporin ( without pain relief ) & Prid. But her foot wasn't improving so this morning I preformed " minor surgery " & this is what I got out of her...- Sue S

Egg Problem
Advice needed.... Why did 1 of my females lay this kind of egg this morning??? I've noticed that a couple of eggs that I've collected over the week have been " different" the shells were hard but they looked & felt grainy, like they were rolled in sand. Now this morning I found this egg??? -
2 New Ducklings
Advice needed... I rescued a female duck a few months ago & my flock has " somewhat" accepted her into the flock but she still is the " outcast". During the day they free range all day & Pippa ( my rescued female ) is always wondering around by herself & hasn't " made friends " with the other... -

I found this in 1 of my eggs this morning as I was making breakfast!!! Can someone please tell me what it is, I've never seen anything like this before. I collect my eggs from my ducks daily. It felt sorta hard & rubbery. Yes, it grossed me out!!!!! -
Drakes fighting
Hi Everybody, it's been a while since I've been on BYC, hope everyone is doing well. 3 of my 1 year old drakes are consistently fighting each other, ( yes, it's spring & mating season) so I realized they would not be very friendly with each other but they are ripping each other's feathers out... -

Opinions Please!!! My 1 1/2 year old drake ( Larr Bear) is being a bully again :mad:. He has always bullied the ducklings their 3 1/2 months old now, but the bullying stopped when I rescued an injured duckling ( BB), My drake attacked BB shortly after I got him & BB fought back after that... -
Switching from crumbles to pellets???
Quick question? I've been feeding my ducks Dumor crumbles, when I was at Tractor Supply today I bought a 5LB bag of Purina duck feed pellets. I'm hoping the pellets will be less waste, has anybody tried the Purina brand of duck food & do the pellets really help with less waste of the food???? -
It's a miracle!!!!
I posted a pic of BB a duck I rescued Monday of last week, he was attacked by something & lost part of his top beak. I'm happy to say that he is doing very well, I kept him in the one pen with the other ducklings for a couple of days so the adult ducks wouldn't pick on him, then the miracle... -
Resuced duck with broken beak
My friend had 6 ducks 3-4 months old, 2 1/2 weeks ago something broke into the pen & 3 were killed & 1 was injured it had puncture wounds on it's neck & the tip of it's beak was broke. Hi Everyone!!! I'm so excited & a little nervous, my broody duck has been sitting on a nest of now 5 eggs, today is day 25!!! I was able to candle them on Saturday & 4 out of 5 are developing well, 1 is developing but looks a few days behind the rest. I'm hoping to be able to check on the eggs... -

Broody duck ate an egg, Why????
My 1 female went broody almost 2 wks ago, she is sitting on a nest of 7 eggs. I candled them over the weekend & 6 out of 7 were developing, I checked the nest again this morning & noticed that she broke/ate 1 of the developing eggs all that was left was the shell. Why???? -
