Currerntly, I'm experiencing wet Hay in my ducks run? It hasn't occured until this winter. Is it because of the humidity in Canada. There is a roof over the run and I have pea gravel beneath Thier water buckets.
Currently, I'm in the state of building a duck run and I was wondering when I let them free range will they fly away? I have one Welsh Harlequin male who can't fly and two Muscovy females. The property is in the city and it's quite small but enough for them to run. I'm also building a large...
So for the past week, I've been noticing my drake Muscovy has been standing on one foot and he did walk around and run when needed to like to eat or get out the coop in the morning but today, looking closer to it, I saw a large bump on the heel of his foot and I figured out it was bumble foot...
Should I place a dirt tray in the duck run because my females seem to like to forge? They keep poking their heads out of the run to eat dirt. I feel bad for not giving them any dirt. They are also molting too I think? One of them is losing some feather on their belly.
This happened many times but I became just curious today. So, just before I let my duckos into their den, one of my female muscovies made this noise it sounded like (vuup vuup vuup vuup but replace the v with a o) repeatedly? Does this mean anything? It's not a trill.
Today, I went out for the daily collecting of eggs and I noticed one was substantially larger than their average sized eggs that they lay. Is it normal?
Hey everyone! I was wondering what foods make duck poop smell most because I've been noticing a strong oder when they poop after eating alot of greens. Is it true greens make their poop for smelly? :celebrate
She has already laid four eggs and today she did not. I watched her behavior and she look worried or something, trilling alot and going out and in the duck house. Is something going on or is it really cold for her? - 8 c right now.
So, my ducks love to hang at the small kiddy pool day besides the male muscovy and they be pooping in there 24/7. I feel loke at this rate, i'd have to chsnge the water 2 times a week. How do you guys keep it clean? Is it impossible? :barnie:th
This morning, Iet my ducks out and my male muscovy began attacking his mate bitting her head which I've been told indicates the stsrt of mating. Then, he mounted her and all thr ducks began biting the female muscovy who's mating. I had to block them from biting her by creatinf a barrier. BUT...
So today, I was refilling my muscovies water bucket and when I stepped in the run, I heard the loudest hiss ever from my male muscovy to the point where It sounded more like a huff. Is it angry at me? He's acting very moody at the moment. :fl:ya
I have an amazing drake who is currently turning 9 months old in January, however, due to the ratio of the flock, I have to give him away. I'm willing to give him for free however no delivery. He needs a better and warming home with plenty of friends. Thank you.
