52 silkies/showgirls/frizzles 😳
Can anyone give me tips on sexing young silkies/showgirls? I went to buy 5 chicks on saturday and came home with 52 The woman wanted them gone and if i didnt take them she would have to dispatch them as they are not good for breeding ( colour faults or something?) Any how, how do i go about...- spish

Confused chicken, roo or hen?
Nearly eight months, has never laid also never crowed. Im normally great at sexing but this one has got me stumped. From the brown flecks on the wings im guessing late blooming roo? But on other forums people are saying hen. Any ideas? Not seeing any pointy feathers round neck and shank, but...- spish

young runner ducks how do you sex them?
i have 9 young runner ducks and would like to know if they are male or female.... i know you can sex them pretty easily when they have 'adult' feathers, but is there any other way to do it when they are young? -

ok, i am one of 3 chicken rescues, and i work closely with the others, we share problems and remedies and help each other out now in one of our centres is there a chicken... Skippy, rescued from a battery about 4 weeks ago she's still growing her new feathers back and is not yet back to...- spish

im pretty sure i have to break the bad news ...but to be sure... are these 2 roosters?
a friend bought two x day-old chicks from me.... they are now 5 weeks old and she's asked me to sex them... am i right in saying two lovely roo's? :D she's going to be devastated!- spish

silky chabo something gross in her mouth?

sexing rescued geese..a little help? 'photos'
we've just rescued a couple of geese....and i was just wondering if it was possible to 'sex' them? one has a stomach that is really low above the ground, the other one doesnt have this, would it be a male and female pair perhaps? -

are there any plants poisonous for quail
i'd like to 'decorate' my new quail pens to make them look a bit more natural..is there any plants i should avoid?? any good suggestions? the new pens are 1metre long and roughly the same width...not huge but big enough for buttons and cortunix :) -
new quail housing, a little help/opinion/advice needed is this suitable?

yellow crusty stuff on 2 dwarf quail?
i got some quail yesterday and a lot of them (the hens?) have balding on their backs, on 2 i have noticed a yellow crusty looking something where the new feathers are growing. anyone any idea what that is? something to be worried about?- spish

balding quail?
i just picked up 11 little quail (think the guy said they are chinese dwarf quail? is that button quail?) they are 3 months old and laying. out of 11, 7 have no feathers on their backs...what would cause this? i see no mites. ive housed them in an old guineapig cage for now..seems the house i... -
zebra finches not breeding?
ive had zebra finches for a year now (16-20) in a large indoor aviary and 2 couples apart in breeding cages and still havent had any little ones born here :( this summer the ladies got broody and sat on eggs but after a few days they left the eggs and just used the nest as a toilet. any idea...- spish
